Dear @SwiftLearn Thank you for the excellent tutorial; your efforts are greatly appreciated. I have a few questions regarding image retrieval: If images are saved locally and their paths stored in the database, how can other users access these images? Will additional code be required, or can the system utilize the stored paths to fetch the images directly? I look forward to your guidance. Best regards
Dear @@SwiftLearn Thank you for your prompt response. I am eagerly anticipating your upcoming tutorial. I have a working code that retrieves text from a database and displays it on a button, but I now require assistance in modifying it to also retrieve a corresponding image. I am confident that your expertise will greatly assist me in this endeavor. Thank you in advance for your help. Dim btn1 As Button = CType(sender, Button) Dim str As String = btn1.Text con = New SqlConnection(cs) con.Open() Dim cmdText1 As String = "SELECT Distinct RTRIM(ServiceName),Service.BackColor from Category,Service where Category.CategoryType=Service.Category and Category=@d1 order by 1" cmd = New SqlCommand(cmdText33) cmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@d10", str) cmd.Connection = con rdr = cmd.ExecuteReader() FlowLayoutPanel.Controls.Clear() Do While (rdr.Read()) Dim btn As New Button btn.Text = rdr.GetValue(0) btn.FlatStyle = FlatStyle.Popup Dim btnColor As Color = Color.FromArgb(Val(rdr.GetValue(1))) btn.BackColor = btnColor btn.Width = 100 btn.Height = 40 btn.Font = New System.Drawing.Font("Segoe UI", 8.0!, System.Drawing.FontStyle.Bold, System.Drawing.GraphicsUnit.Point, CType(0, Byte)) btn.ForeColor = System.Drawing.Color.Black UserButtons.Add(btn) FlowLayoutPanel.Controls.Add(btn) AddHandler btn.Click, AddressOf Me.ButtonCategory_Click
I wanted to ask, what if my primary keys are set to auto increment and I'm using insert method, do I need to insert keys manually or I skip the column?
That was good for me, because I've a c# with sql server, and Crystal reports x84, and needed to migrate to 64 bits... so I removed all the references to CR, and I'm doing now the RDLC reports.
