Nothing you can do about it,... haters are going to hate,and they will be saying things like "it's not a 359,379,or 389",...."it looks like an International with a Peterbilt hood",etc. Guys,...come on,...Peterbilt can't keep making the same model truck forever and ever. To stay current,certain models need updated,and certain ones dropped/retired in favor of a new model. In my opinion,... Peterbilt knocked it out of the park on this new truck,...and it looks WAY better than Kenworth's W990. Give the truck a chance,guys!
Today, october 2nd 2024, I drove Peterbilt 579 (the last Pete my company 've had b4 2024 was 2015 just for 50k miles and they canceled lease because it was more in shop than on road) & i can tell you that this Adaptive Cruise Control/Colision Mitigation System is the same as is in Internationals. Most likely Cummins variant. If I compare this ACC/CMS to Fr8liner then this stuff in Peterbilt is piece of garbage compare to Fr8liner Cascadia. Cascadia is totaly autonomous vehicle. Will slow down to stop and then start again without driver's interference. But Pete's/International's system just slam brakes hard (without reason) and turn everything off. This slaming brakes is causing accidents! Federal agencies should look at it.
I 've seen video in company I work for where false hard braking by system in rain caused accident. Safety dep used this video in training. When I chalenged it they swept it under carpet. But i think company stopped purchasing trucks with CMS in 2024. So there is some reflexion to my discovery

Not mentioned in the video…. Between the Red Park indicator and the ABS indicator at the top center There is what appears to be a driver facing camera. Big Brother watching over you. 😒 shine a light or having direct sunlight on the panel will help you see it 💀
I Really Love This Truck but the driver and the passenger door mirror is not good. It needs to be like the KW having the mirror cut off is not a good thing.

Horrible truck! Wtf as the old saying, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Lose the dash put the 379/389 dash back in and the traditional gauge package. Lose the automatic and put the clutch petal back on the floor where is supposed to be.
This thing does not ever fucking work. It’ll click like it’s going to turn on and then never starts the engine. I hate that my company with this fucking junk. Sweating my damn ass off all summer cause my battery died while I was sleeping because your auto start BULLSHIT doesn’t fucking work.
Late to the party but yes this is by far the stupidest thing ever installed on a truck. I'm only here because I'm looking for a way to disable this POS or find a shop that will disable it. Mots dealerships are ignorant morons when I as them about it. Somehow they think I'm talking about the adaptive cruise and flat out refuse to even listen to my explanation. My first Pete and I have to say I'm not really impressed.
If only it came in manual transmission. 13spd 🙌🏾🏆 Automatics take too long to cross intersections lol. They change gears at the wrong time. Just horrible but most definitely a beautiful truck.
The 520 is one of the nicest can and chassis for an automated side load garbage truck with right hand drive only. Very nice rig, we have 7 of them and going with more
@@PaulGienau It’s not the vibrations from the engine that makes the truck rattle. It’s sloppy assembly, lack of insulation etc. ALL American big rigs are rattle boxes.
My new job has me driving this model doing OTR. Cant believe I’m driving my dream truck as a company driver. Can I get some videos on it?! I want to know EVERYTHING! I bet there’s some hidden features I never knew about.
