Even in old tamil books tulu language mentioned not Kannada, and region of tulunadu called erumainaadu, but tulu somewhat lost its script because of Kannada impact, and kannada impacted by Sanskrit unlike tamil. tamil also have Sanskrit impact but tamil have different words for same meaning so without Sanskrit tamil can be Speakable language language. Even in every 100 of new words are introduced in Tamil for new invention (radio, tv, internet, paper) if one language create new words according to current generation it can withstand for long long years in world only English and Tamil only have this unique strategy. New words for new things 🎉. I wish all other Dravidian language should follow this
Bro, Malayalam is most probably the oldest language in the world. Let me tell you why. Malayalees had trade with Egyptians during BC times. Even now Kerala has words that are distinct from other languages like Tamil.
My mom's from Bengaluru and dad from Mumbai. I speak fluent kannada and marathi. I speak in kannada even in Mumbai when I meet udupi people who own most restaurants

உனக்கு தமிழ் மொழி பற்றி என்ன தெரியும் . அசோகர் ஒரு புத்த மதத்தை பின்பற்றுபவர் அவர் ஆட்சி காலத்தில் தமிழி எழுத்து தான் பயன்படுத்தினார் . ஆனால் அதன் பொருள் கிரந்தத்தில் இருக்கும் . பண்டைய காலத்தில் புத்த மதத்தையும் சமண மதத்தையும் பின்பற்றபவர்களால் புது மொழிகள், புது எழுத்து வடிவம் உருவாக்கப்பட்டது . பல்லவர்கள் வந்தவுடன் தமிழ் மொழியை கைவிட்டு கிரந்த மொழியை பயன்படுத்தினார்கள் . தமிழிலிருந்து பிரிந்தது தான் கன்னடம் , துளு , தெலுகு , மலையாளம்.... . கன்னடம் , தெலுகு , துளு ,சிங்களம் மலையாளம் , ஒடியம், தமிழ் வட்டெழுத்து இந்த எழுத்துக்களை பார்க்கையில் ஒரே மாதிரியாக இருக்கும். யாரு கொண்டுவந்து இருப்பார்கள் புத்த, சமண புலவர்களால் தான். கல்வியிலும் , துறவிலும் அதிக ஈடுபாடு கொண்டவர்கள் . பல இலக்கியங்கள் ஒவ்வொரு மொழியினும் தோன்றின . உண்மை ஆதாரமாக இலங்கை , தமிழ்நாடு , கர்நாடகம் சமண புத்த சிற்பங்கள் கிடைத்தது . தமிழ் வட்டெழுத்து முறையை கொண்டுவந்தது களப்பிரர்கள். இந்த களப்பிரர்கள் புத்த மத்தை பின்பற்றுபவர்கள் கல்விக் கற்ற சமண , புத்த மத புலவர்களால் உருவாக்கப்பட்டது . தமிழ் மொழி தான் பழமை வாய்ந்தது.

dumbo, tulu is just a slang of old tamil, it is a cross breed between that pest sanksrit, prakrit and tamil. Tulu does not even have its own script. it uses pallava grandha script
