I'm not seeing it under Preview Feature in latest public release 17.11.4. It was hard to hear what she was saying, but I found that it's in in the 17.12 preview.
Yep - Bro has a Mac laptop with multiple OSes installed including Windows (hey you really need Visual Studio for some projects no matter what your primary OS is!) and a bunch on stickers including my Microsoft squares and the big SQL database. Developers can make good apps on Azure wherever they’re coming from, stickers not required though (they’re just my thing).
You must have amazing database CI/CD setup if this looks awful! What are the must haves in your database deployment toolkit - especially the things that you don’t like about SQL projects?
JS has no types. It means, decorator pattern doesn't apply because all the abstraction for flexible design is available without interfaces or abstract base. That being said, how would author claim that if he knew decorator pattern, it would save lots of time etc in his JS project. This is nonsense
I am having a problem with Blend in Visual Studio and have not got an answer in any support forum. When I draw a control or a text box in the design pane in Blend, a previously-drawn control or text box disappears. How can I stop it doing that?
Hello, How can we change the placement to ‘FolderNode’? I noticed there is a method called ‘VsctParent,’ but I’m having trouble finding proper documentation to fill in the parameters. Could you provide guidance on how to use it?
Still, it is not clear to me that if MAUI code gets compiled to WinUI (so the Windows app performance will be as good as a WinUI app), and it has some benefits over, e.g. multi platform, C# UI creation, etc., why should someone start a brand-new project in WinUI at all? Is there any case for which WinUI is a 'better' choice? I hope Alvin can provide an answer. Thanks a lot! 👍
I'm not getting it. I understand third party's like Uno, but why have both winui and Maui from MS? Why release two flavors of xaml that does more or less the same thing? Why not sunset one and make it easier for devs to choose.
this guide is not enough you have CLEARLY missed out a lot of configuration steps. I keep getting token errors right now and all i have done is follow your steps.
Pretend everyone does not have a degree in computer science and doesn't know what you are talking about. Example: 1. Open VS code. 2. Open preferences 3. Open settings 4. Open extensions 4. Find target [explain what this does] 5. expect this to happen....and so on. Not everyone is an expert, assume everyone has no experience and learning.
Bit of a shot in the dark with this question. I'm pretty new to Visual Studios. Would there be any reason this option is missing from VS 2022? Every guide has it under Debug -> Windows. But mine does not show it no matter what I do. Is this just for the paid version of VS?
Top of mind to me is so that people who are writing apps in C++ (including the OS itself... think the shell, for example) can use it without having to incur the cost of pulling the CLR (including the JIT and GC) into their applications. Had they used .NET / C# to implement UWP (and now WinUI) at the core... it would have forced every application to take a dependency on .NET. Of course, you can write WinRT-style components (or get them from third-parties) implemented in .NET and a C++ application that uses them will take that dependency. But you are opting into that... it's not forced upon you.
"Community & Professional" are the best offerings. I don't know about others. Professional pricing best for organizations, you just need to negotiate properly based on dynamic requirement.
Community and Professional are definitely our most popular subscriptions. Enterprise is favored by larger developer teams, largely because it offers a $150/month Azure credit per developer, along with other benefits like access to volume discounts on subscriptions.
We have something for every budget, like our Community edition. Check it out to see if you qualify. Did you sign up for Dev Essentials? visualstudio.microsoft.com/dev-essentials/
What's so annoying about Visual Studio is that I can't create an application for Windows quickly, easily, simply and with pleasure, it leaves a lot to be desired, because a person can really get nervous when I want to program something in C# WPF XAML ( especially in Main Window.xaml.cs) Please do something about it to make it as good as possible 😪😤😡🤬🤢🤮
