At the end games PQ I was on nebula vis, 2-0 going into round 3…..tim was my opponent on dio, and started turn 0 with cerebellum into spark of genius, grabbing teklo core…..I didn’t win that game
i thought this was MTG and when he said Flesh and Blood and showed some cards i looked down at my weed tray scraper and realized it was a Singular Polar Cap from FAB. To this day i never knew about this game
You know what is worse than a bad draw in flesh and blood... No fucking running water. Right now there are places in africa that don't know Fab exists because they are looking for food.... I don't feel bad about missing out on the 5th anniversary in Japan... I'm just happy my worst problem is Rune bricking on viserai
It's so true man. I've been to only one major event this year, it was a battle hardened that I went to and didn't play in, and I still feel very privileged.
I'm just gonna say it... As straightup only caring about Clash these cards have been amazing. I could have talked the whole hour about how much this will probably impact Clash.
I think other card games seems more creative in terms of deck building because you can theoretically combine two, three or even four distinct creature archetypes into one deck. And the name, art, text and attributes of the cards clearly communicates to the player to which world these cards belongs to. Flesh and blood on the other hand has on the outside looking in just the class and sometimes the talent. This is because card game players from other games are used to many labels (for example Yugioh has type, attributes, card color, archetype-Name, the word next to „Monster/effect/„, etc.) and the game itself is not creature based. But when you look closer at the fab cardpool you’ll realize that the game skips all the labels and such and goes directly to the mechanics and then you realize that archetypes were never something else then a playstyle disguised as a fancy label. If you think of a galvanize item deck or an agro wager deck, you don’t really have a civilization of monsters in mind that inherit these decks, but mechanically you certainly combined different „archetypes“.
Never underestimate the value of proselytizing. I probably told this story here before but there were these two guys going door to door selling new siding for houses and when they got to my house I stood out there and talked to them for a long time and by the end I was giving them Blitz decks to go off and play. Take any opportunity you can show how much fun things are. Don't focus on the differences with how much your meta sucks versus how awesome our meta is. People should want to play it from a purely looking at another person. Having fun and wanting to have that fun too. They're not stupid. They know they're mad at sucks and they don't want to be cold that they're meta sucks because that will make them defensive and defensive people will dig their heels in and not listen. So rather than focusing on their negative, you should focus on your positive
I was going to disagree with Tommy until I think we changed points but being welcoming to any player by not downgrading their old game is important! Even if they play Yu-Gi-Oh lol
There's a notion that there is something for everybody in every game and to be blunt. Do you want face rollers in the game. It sounds like a good idea more people, but the truth of the matter is if they find a playstyle that will face roll. How much fun is that for the other player? I feel like there are some aspects that people would qualify as being inherently flesh and blood and that is interplay.... Look at how many people bemoan Zen over the fact that there's no interplay and how they say it's not real flesh and blood. It's because they've developed a notion of how the game should feel like people develop a notion on how magic should feel and other games that I can't be bothered with thinking about.
I think based on the fact fab cards are more modal than other games, there is inherent diversity in the play even if you are running an identical deck.... Do you block with a specific card or play it... That changes based on the situation on the ground and the hero you are against... The push pull interplay makes more branching options
Diversity is in the margins because most characters have to have a card pool that supports their hero ability or they start at a disadvantage in a game where most battles differ by single points..
I dispute that flesh bag is a big threat. It's annoying and it can be bad, but it can be played around with creepers. You can always creepers your revel... It does take careful consideration in pitching to make sure you can get around it though.
