Hello friends! I am a 19-year-old university student from Texas that likes crafting, art, and journaling/planning. If you like what you see, I hope you subscribe and join my journey of experimenting with new things.
Nice video! Love the close up views. This looks like a nice limited palette. Also I like how you did your color charts. I hit subscribe. Hope to see more watercolor content on your channel! :)
Hey your sketchbook looks like it was fun to make, its motivating me to go ahead and pick mine up after like a month break from art, so thank you! Also, when you mentioned that you dont want to pollute the environment - I read a lot about this because it was a huge concern for me but from what Ive gathered, it seems the amount of heavy metals or toxic substances in paint isnt significant enough to cause any damage? Thats just what I remember reading but Im totally open to being corrected so if anyone knows then please feel free to let me know!
Oh and one more thing - I hope you dont give up on making videos. You have great potential and I subscribed right after seeing this video. Keep it up and it will pay off!
That's a great question. I think that the heavy metals in watercolor paints are probably not high enough to cause any significant damage to the environment. However, I would rather be safe with how I handle my paints and not affect the environment. If I do happen to use toxic metals, I don't dispose of my water until I get back to my hotel. I hope this helps.
I also don't like Ryder's original bullet method, but I also don't like crossing out completed items because then I would have no signifier for canceled items. I just use boxes because coloring in a box draws enough attention to a task that's been completed for me. I used to cross out migrated tasks and add an arrow to the end of the line (which I still like) but now I just do a full arrow in the task box most of the time
least favorite? hmmmm bad title., disliked the video for it, there are some awesome colors in that pallete, actually im using cheap 1 dollar colors with sum gum arabic to achieve tones that i like. its not about quality of pigments sometimes, is just how you use them. anyway BAD TITLE, maybe not best colors but least favorite? darn... would love to say you have better taste to say that.
Constructive feedback is okay but I don’t think you should dislike the video because you don’t like the title. Not cool in my opinion. Did you bother to read the video description? This video was well done and deserves a thumbs up. 👍
Love your setup! I prefer an A6 bullet journal too to take with me everywhere. It’s nice to get some inspiration from someone with a similar taste and style to mine. Would you consider making a video of a monthly (February) setup? Would love to see that :)
I use a large safety pin and stir the paint inside the tubes before pouring any of it into any pans or anything. Works great and makes me feel better about pigment and binder distribution throughout the life of the entire tube being more even….
@@mayflea9121 get yourself a large long safety pin, use the sharp end to carefully stir the paint inside the tube i start at the top and slowly go deeper as I stir and the consistency becomes more creamy I move deeper little by little as far as the pin will let me. I’ll sometimes need to squirt a little into the pan to make some extra room and then continue stirring so it doesn’t start spilling over the top but it’s really not difficult to do at all and yields great results from tubes that have binder separation problems.
this is a fabulous idea!! I got recommended this video as I just bought the sketches pallet and was looking for reviews. I am interested in your content and will look around and subscribe. Thanks for such a great video.
awesome review, thank you so much. lovely artwork too! would you happen to know how much the cobalt blue No.2 and cobalt green deep granulate? they don't seem like they granulate at all on your swatch cards?
By itself, they both have a softer more fine granulation than ultramarine but it’s definitely there. The more water in your mix, the less granulation you’ll see so it depends on the amount of pigment and water you use.
Love seeing you a fountain pen, I love sketching with fountain pens. I will be teaching “sketching with Fountain Pens” at the San Francisco Pen show in August! Great video.!
this was a really fun watch haha. my journal is coming in tomorrow and im totally copying the taped in small pages and the label maker aesthetic omg it looks so good tysm <3
I may do a video on that since summer is here and I have more free time! But in the meantime, I used Sea Lemon’s kettle stitch tutorial on RU-vid (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-9O4kFTOEh6k.html&vl=en)
Ahh, my Jackson's order with Roman Szmal paints will be arriving in a few days' time. I've heard so much praise for this brand that I had to try them out for myself.
godd how much I hate when the pigment separates in the tube because even if you mix the paint you pour in the pan it usually has wayy more binder than the pigment which makes it hard to dilute the paint and it doesn't mix with any color properly and the paint also tends to stick to the brush when u try to paint with it and dry veryy sticky on the paper😫 and is overall a pain in the pooper😪
I'd say: don't be afraid to use these colors, put the pigment onto the paper strongly! You may break the crayon, yes, but you won't get the result you want, unless you press the pigment onto the paper.
Your videos are so cool to watch! So high quality visuals and voiceover 💖 Hope you'll get more attention soon, because you work on videos so hard. As someone who also makes videos, I appreciate it even more.
