there's something that makes this scene almost like it's plucke straight from a dystopian novel... The dirty clapped-out 0-8-0s with headlamps that looks like a pair of eyes in a box hauling equally as dirty and clapped-out tipper cars full of coal back and fourth between valliages makes it almost feel like something happened in the past where humans had to resort back to steam power just to move the goods from A to B... Dystopian yet somewhat beautiful.
I’m not sure if this railway is still running, but they could at least lay down new tracks for a much smoother ride. Not to mention that the locomotives as well as the rest of the equipment are in serious need of overhaul.
The regulations in China compared to the USA are outstandingly different, look how wavey the steel rails are and how things are maintained I mean look at the condition of some of those trains! - I can't imagine the derailments and accident amounts are higher there than in the USA. or other countries that has strict regulations, good thing these small worker steamers seem to be on the slower end. Still cool to see these workers are fearless in some ways and travel almost at full speeds.
