@jsnantic Thanks! That's funny...a trip from Virginia to Florida (and back) last week is when the noise became unbearable. Ordered the seals and will work on it this weekend.

@@Soli_Deo_Gloria_. we got power tuesday morning.looking at it right now yeah its 450 now . After they restore the power thats the rume to buy generators. Bilt hard 2500w is at 309 still a good deal. Westinghouse refurbished 4650w is at 279.
What source are you getting your internet through? I am wondering if you have looked into how long your internet service provider's back up power will last? Cable companies may use some batteries and/or generators with enough storage/fuel for a few days. Even the cell phone companies with back up generators at their cell sites typically have about 3 days of fuel. After that and in a widespread power outage they may have difficulty resupplying their fuel.
It being after midnight, many of your neighbors who have some form of alternate power may have shut it down for the night and be sleeping. I really like your idea of having a small window AC unit. It is obvious that small generators do not have enough capacity to run a central AC system, but they can power a small window unit. That way you have at least one room to get some relief from the heat and a cooler place to sleep. That is a great idea. Bravo on you for being prepared! I mentioned to my wife that if we lived in Texas, I would definitely be looking into having something like a Generac along with some battery storage and solar panels.
We just went through Beryl here in Jamaica luckily I have solar. Maybe you want to look into solar as a backup for the future? Stay safe brother please and remember your neighbours.❤
