@@ascp.prep_camp I'm reaching out for guidance and mentorship. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science and have registered for the MLS (ASCPi) exam, which is just 40 days away. However, I'm struggling to prepare due to my limited background in medical laboratory science. In hindsight, I regret not registering for a categorical certification, specifically in Hematology, as it aligns better with my interests and strengths. Unfortunately, I lack a solid foundation in Hematology as well. I'm finding it challenging to prepare alone and fear I may not pass the exam. I desperately need your expertise and advice to help me navigate this situation. I'm committed to succeeding and appreciate any guidance you can offer. Thank you for your time and consideration.
@@YusufAbdulkadir-cc6ux Hello there! Thank you for reaching out and sharing your situation. I completely understand your concerns, and I'm here to help guide you through this challenging time. First, take a deep breath. While 40 days may seem short, it's still enough time to make significant progress if you approach your studies strategically. Here's what I suggest: Focus on high-yield topics: The MLS exam covers a broad range of subjects, but some areas are more heavily weighted. Prioritize these topics in your study plan. Use varied study methods: Mix up your approach with video lectures, practice questions, flashcards, and summarizing key concepts. This helps reinforce learning in different ways. Practice questions daily: This will help you identify knowledge gaps and get used to the exam format. Don't neglect Hematology: Even if you feel it's not your strong suit, it's a crucial part of the exam. My videos on Hematology can help you build a solid foundation. Join study groups: Connect with other MLS students online. Explaining concepts to others can solidify your own understanding. Take care of yourself: Ensure you're getting enough sleep, eating well, and taking short breaks to avoid burnout. Remember, many successful MLSs have been in your shoes. With dedicated effort, you can overcome this challenge.
ERROR in Video: 1:14, 10:22 I have not seen megakaryocytes larger than 150micrometers. In fact, the largest single cell, ostrich egg (130-180mm) is just twice or thrice the size of what you posted on the video (30 - 50mm). Platelets the size of 2.5millimeters...? The difference between millimetre (10^-3 of a metre) and micrometre (10^-6 of a metre, colloquially referred as micron), and please use appropriate mensurals.
Thank you for pointing that out! I appreciate your keen observation. I mistakenly used "millimeters" instead of "micrometers" in the video. The correct measurement should indeed be in micrometers for both the megakaryocytes and the platelets. I’ll be more careful with the units in future videos. Thanks again for your understanding and for bringing this to my attention!

🧐I keep trying to watch these episodes--but the intro is as if you're speaking to children who have never studied the information before. MT prep is for people preparing for a professional licensure after years of training. How about a review of systems and a case study or 12?
Thank you for your honest feedback! I truly appreciate you taking the time to share it. While this series is intended for MT licensure prep, I also want to make the content accessible to a broader audience, including those for whom English is not their first language. In the next video, I will try to start with mind maps for the discussed points. I look forward to your review and further feedback.
