I gotta try and find my BMX I had as a kid. Im 50. This video has sealed the deal. I will try to track down the exact model and color of my bike but won't be easy. Its from like 1987.
This footage was fantastic. What character the old tracks had. The modern course is too cultivated, with asphalt turns the bikes don’t even have knobby dirt tires. It’s too bland, they need to incorporate some of the good old school raw dirt riding.
i from philipines i started bmx 79 i was 16 then i race in 83 we only have few race track and far from our places. i made my own ramp now im 60 years old and still love to bike
I started Racing BMX when I was 4 years old in the early 70's, raced until 91' out of Vacaville CA. then moved back to Napa Ca. So did the whole Vallejo P.A.L. BMX, Fremont, Napa track, Stockton, Sacramento tracks etc...
“See these great new British bikes from Raleigh” When Britain made its own stuff instead of importing everything from China and the rest of the world. 🇬🇧
I love those forks. Well done. I have the threadless black with glow in the dark decals from the Kona Kaboom SS ,double butter Spinner and the grey matte triple butted but it is from a 14 or 15 inch frame so it has the extender kit in it . i still have not installed it on a bike yet though. They grey one says KONA on the drop outs though.
What a wonderful document. From when the world was the world. On the one hand, it makes me very happy to see it and, on the other hand, very sad because these are times that will not return. I would give anything to return to this time where things were done differently way and the word happiness had meaning. Peace and Health for all 🙂🙏
Now, this is how I remember BMX racing. Hairpin and S turns, sharp berms, and loose dirt. Not the smooth track with long sweeping turns & rolling whoops like today.
😭❤️ Here's to long days in the sun, sharing the pop and water bottles, trips to the nearest food store to rush back to the trails and the ride home at night. Bikes we ride ♥️
