This comment is a little late, but here is some more info about this song. It is one of the most famous and covered songs in history, originally sung by a teenage Judy Garland in the 1939 film The Wizard Of Oz. This version by Jona is patterned after Patty LaBelle's version. At 1:10 you pause the video, look at the image of Jona, and I believe you say, "Told ya. Beautiful and black." Jona is certainly beautiful, but she is not black. To quote part of a statement in Quora: "The vast majority of Filipinos are Austronesians, who are related to the southern Chinese and Taiwanese aboriginals." Jona may not be white, but she certainly has no African ancestry, at least after the "out of Africa" migration from which all the modern peoples of the world emerged. Even the indigenous Aeta people of the Philippines, who were there before the Austronesians, and are very short and dark skinned, with curly hair, and look like they might be African, are no more genetically related. There are plenty of beautiful black (African or African-American) women without the need to claim other races.
There's like an unwritten/unspoken law that no one but Whitney should do her songs. I guess they forgot to mention this to Sohyang or maybe she either didn't understood what they were trying to say or she just didn't listen! Cause she knew if anyone could pull this off was herself!!
