one thing i noticed about all the timing chain videos for this engine type. None of them show you the after completion video. they just show the 'process' of doing it and then none show it in the car, starting up to see if it was done correctly and the codes were gone. I've yet to find a single one in the dozen or two that i've seen.
Thanks for informative diagnosis and repair. Some time ago I checked my wiring harness in same location, even fixed a couple of exposed wires, but am getting same P0192, so I will expose that harness section again to see if I missed another wire or two... thanks for making the video with excellent explanations and video edits!
I wanted to know what could it possibly means when your 2012 equinox cranks but won’t start we tried the battery and camshaft neither one was the issue cause it keeps doing the same thing crank but won’t start. Can someone help me with answers
Did this cause battery drainages issues, as well as any issues with alarm system? Just trying to diagnose possible issue on mine. I’m having the same issue with tpms, key fob, and abs lights. But I have a battery issue on top of that.
If you have only replaced timing kit or components it's not necessary to prime. If engine has been opened up further like crank bearings or cylinder head then would be a wise choice
wish I would of watched yours first!! I looked at my big white gear for the longest time, didnt see no screw in the middle of it? watched your video got it apart in like 10 minutes? maybe the early cruzes dont have a screw in them? Anyways alls I have to do is put it back together tomorrow!!!hopefully, thanks for the video, wish me luck, thanks again.
Yeah I'm assuming the early ones don't. I've been hammered in the comments about there being a screw and I'm a hack that just broke it all off. Thanks for watching and hope repair goes well!
Great Great job ,currently fighting a 2011 silverado 2wd work truck ,very similar issues, I don't have the technical knowledge you definitely have, but have done mechanical work most of my life so looking forward to getting my truck out of the weeds and back into the shop.Thank you
Help, we've had issue with truck doing this . 2004 GMC yukon denali. We thought it was just the ignition switch. When I put a new ignition. Switch in it fires up ....
I don't know how long it took you to find and repair the issue, but it's a shame the Dealer had it for 2 months and their techs gave up. They definitely need to better train them.
Took me about 2 hours. Dealer techs have little to no electrical training from my experience or at least locally to me. I have 2 dealers near me that sublet their hard ones to me
Sounds like you should look into that trouble code and see what the diagnostic procedure is as that is completely unrelated to the case study I went over here
Awesome video! Always a fun time wheelin' with ya. The Tahoe performed great and is only gonna get better!!! Now I should get to editing a video of my own...😅
My 2012 starts while its cold ones it runs for a while i shout off the engine and wont start until aprox 40 min after relay its good and starter aswell
I’m considering if I should just trade in my 2010 Equinox for a Toyota. The mechanic said he heard the timing chain faintly, I just self repaired my exhaust manifold split in two. I don’t have the money to really pay for repairs.
Wow, awesome diagnostic abilities. I need you to move to Utah now. One of my PS's is at the dealer and the first $750 didn't fix it. I'm pretty sure they are getting ready to take me down their replace-everything-one-after-another-til-the-light-stays-off road. Dealer mechanics don't seem to have any incentive to get it right the first time.
Sorry to hear that, Imo the dealer is the least equipped to handle in depth electrical problems. They have no incentive to and sadly have the least amount of humility
Do you take work? Or only referrals from other shops, I’m not really that far, pretty sure after watching I have a short to power, but don’t have half the tools it would take to diagnose.will run and driver all day long start and stop, get home for the day let is set for 2-3hrs then have the same symptoms
I have a 2013 200, it was the electronic throttle body on mine. It's fairly easy to replace, $ 140 from amazon. There's videos on removing and installing. Inside the unit are PLASTIC cogs that move to open and close the butterfly, the teeth on the cog goes bad, stripped. When the cog rotates to where the teeth are fine, the vehicle runs fine, but as the cog rotates to the stripped section, the butterfly doesn't open properly and the car runs poorly. Best of luck to ya. I got 150k on mine and it's still going. Has been a pretty damn good little car, for a chrysler.
Awesome video! Thanks for showing my truck as much as you did. Such a good time, can't wait yo hit Holly Oaks with ya tomorrow.... gonna be another banger of a good time!!!
