We are full-time travelers and adventurers. We travel using our Outdoors RV travel trailer year-round, but we also fly and cruise to destinations as well. Our goals are to travel, enjoy life, sightsee and have, as well as share adventures. We started our personal RU-vid page to share journeys with family and friends. Along the way, our families, friends, as well as people we didn't know started following us, and asking if specific sights and adventures were worth it? With so many things to do in a particular location or region, there's only time for so many adventures... Is it worth it?™. Worth going to, worth experiencing, worth the effort required?
We show the locations, sights and adventures. We let you know if it was worth it to us. You decide if it's worth it to you! - Worth watching? Worth doing if you are visiting an area?
Please subscribe to our RU-vid Channel: www.youtube.com/@YouDecideIsItWorthIt
- We look forward to sharing our travels with you!
@@pat13487 For sure! We’ve realized we can’t ski all the resorts in North America and Europe in our lifetime, and hope our videos will help people pick the best resorts for their desires - scenery, terrain, etc.
EXTREMELY HIGH CANCER RATE IN HYDER. BAD WATER. MINE WASTE AND ABANDONED VEHICLES AND TOXIC WASTE HAVE RUINED THE WATER AND POLLUTED THE WATER TABLE. I LIVE IN STEWART AND HAVE PERSONALLY WATCHED STEWART RESIDENTS GO TO THE HYDER DUMP AND DUMP THIER TOXIC WASTE AND OLD BATTERIES INSTEAD OF PROPERLY DISPOSING OF THEM. THE MEN OF HYDER HAVE DONE NOTHING FOR 40 YEARS TO STOP ANY OF THIS. THEY ARE TOO AFRAID TO STAND UP FOR THIER TOWN, COWARDS. LOTS HAVE DIED FROM OR CURRENTLY HAVE CANCER. THEY WILL TELL YOU HOW CLEAN AND PRISTINE IT IS IN HYDER...DO NOT BELIEVE IT. THEY WILL ALSO SAY THAT YOU CAN LIVE OFF THE LAND THERE, NO WAY. YES, YOU CAN CATCH A FEW FISH BUT NO ONE IN HYDER LIVES OFF THE LAND, THEY ALL BUY GROCERIES LIKE THE REST OF US. WINTERS ARE 9 MONTHS AND THERE IS NO CELL RECEPTION OR RADIO. SATELLITE IS THE ONLY WAY TO GET TV OR RADIO BUT WITH 30 FEET OF SNOW IN THE WINTER IT IS CONSTANT WORK TO KEEP IT WORKING. HYDER LOOKS GREAT BUT UNDERNEATH IT ALL IT HAS MAJOR PROBLEMS.
Hello James, good job !!! I see years of experience preparing great fish. We eat salmon (Lachs) often - but the frozen ones we buy here in Germany certainly don't taste like the ones you catch and prepare there. And the worst thing is that we will never taste them straight from the river. Pity ... Best regards
@@user-mf6mx6fj4m Thanks Georg! We are smoking our last batch of salmon today. Tomorrow will be a fishing for fun (catch and release) day and then Carmelita and I begin the 48 hour journey home on Friday. We anticipate being home on Tuesday and then headed to Idaho’s Sawtooth Mountains near Stanley, Idaho to camp with the family. Take care my friend!
@@YouDecideIsItWorthIt Hello James , is it possible ? 2,891 miles ( 4653 km ) in 48 hours? With such a large load? Please go carefully und take care ...
@@RB-kr1ww Thank you. I loved everything about Fernie - the scenery, the terrain and the atmosphere! Awesome you are local and get to enjoy it often. Appreciate you watching and commenting. Sincerely, James Duke
Hello, I actually assumed that the vacation was over and you were in Boise?? And here's a surprise!! Are you still in Alaska?? and you work hard on the river fishing!! These prepared pieces for smoking look great 13:27 ---- 13:44 sek -- and they taste great too?? Enjoy your meal " Best regards G+S
@@user-mf6mx6fj4m Hi George, yes we are still vacationing in Alaska. Maybe another week or two. These fish are Copper River Sockeye Salmon - they are delicious!!! Supposedly the Copper River Sockeye are the best salmon in the world. Hope you and Sylwia are well!
@@AlfrSjalfr Thank you for the comments - appreciate you suggesting more natural sound! I haven’t been to Silver Star yet. Hoping to ski it next season.
Hi James How many kilos of fish did you catch today? Well, I guess Ford and Camper are already full of fish? The road to Boise is long (ca. 4,600 km!!!) Regards
Thank you for your excellent video. I'm heading to Fernie this winter from New Zealand and am looking forward to it that much more because of your video. Very informative those slopes look amazing
That is some great advice! I think had we waited at the Ferry landing just below the sanctuary until people limited out and then asked if we could fish, we would have caught some. Really great day though - we will try there again in the future! We are fishing the Klutina now in Cooper Center - good times catching and processing sockeye! Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@chrisburgess6964 We tried the snagging for sockeye in Seward once. People were slaying the sockeye. I never could get one, so I went further down the channel and caught them drift fishing. Wish the King runs would recover - use to have so much fun catching the big fish!
Beautiful scenery... Snow, blue sky, great weather and a horse-drawn carriage ride with dogs. I guess this is a new hobby for you?? Or Carmelita's dreams come true?? Regards George
Thanks George. I thought you would enjoy seeing the snow and mountains. Definitely not a new hobby - skiing is the winter hobby! Sled dogging on snow was one of Carmelita’s bucket list items. We did it for her birthday! Take care! James & Carmelita
Thanks George! It was a long drive. Carmelita gave us a fishing lesson yesterday - she caught her limit of 3 copper river sockeye in 20 minutes. My uncle and I caught zero.
Hello James Hello Carmelita It's beautiful but dangerous to do something with a bear!! I mean the title Photo Congratulations on your courage!! 😀😀😀 Greetings for the whole family Georg
Hello Georg, seeing the bears was a super cool experience! We visited with the man who owns the Fortress of the bears and it’s just amazing what he has done to help rescue orphaned bears and share up close encounters with the bears in a safe environment. Appreciate you watching and commenting! I think you and Sylwia will really enjoy next week’s video - Dog sledding on a glacier in Alaska! It’s been on Carmelita’s bucket list and we did it for her birthday this year. Hope you both are well! James
@@YouDecideIsItWorthIt WOW WOW WOW!!!! super lucky ?? Can you always catch such halibut? What is the maximum size of Halibut? They look great and delicious!! Hmmm, I'm hungry!!! So you have a lot of work now? Will there be more "fish"? How much can you catch? Or is the quantity limited? We wish you a lot of pleasure at work and then while eating. Warm greetings Georg and Sylwia
Thanks for watching and commenting! We haven't visited Hug Point falls on the Oregon coast (yet). What really impressed us about Nugget Falls is how close we were - the sound, and even the feel of the powerful water. Good times for sure! I think the Steep Creek walk would also be incredible when the salmon are running. The walkways and platforms would be an excellent place to view bears fishing.
Bravo to the whole team!! Quickly to the top of the mountain. 😀😀😀 As I see (5 min: 39 sec), you are probably the only tourist below the equator wearing a sports cap from Kitzbühel - as a winter memory!!!! We wish you all the best Georg and Sylwia
Beautiful scenery!! Best regards, two nice people on the Tahiti Vaiava beach Video .. 5:45 ...... 5:48 When we win a million in the lottery, we will go there too.... But first, two weeks of DOLOMITES Georg and Sylwia 😀😀😀😀
Thanks Georg! You and Sylwia definitely need to visit and ski in the Dolomites as a first priority while you are still young - the beaches can wait until you are older :-) Take care my friend! I’m on day 1 of ??? traveling 50 hours to Alaska with the truck and camper.
@@YouDecideIsItWorthIt Hello James, you wrote it well "" to visit and ski in the Dolomites as a first priority while you are still young - the beaches can wait until you are older :-) """ Thank you for your wishes. I think at the age of 80-90 it will be difficult to travel!!! 🙂🙂🙂🙂 How many kilometers do you want to do now with track and camper to Alaska? How long will you be traveling? We wish you a wonderful journey!!! And : Be carefull !!!
@@user-mf6mx6fj4m I’ve driven 1800 km in two days. 2600 km to go. The going will get much slower after tomorrow as the roads deteriorate significantly.
@@joelcr250 for sure! I’ve used it to make full length ski resort videos. I just picked up the new insta360 X4. Excited to try it out on our trip to Alaska - supposedly it has twice as many pixels to work with allowing for a 50 percent zoom. Appreciate you watching our videos!
Hallo James Hallo Carmelita .......... Nice to see you hiking together in New Zealand. I hope everything turned out well and you are resting at home😀😀😀 Greetings George und Sylwia
Hello. Rarely seen scenes!! Carmelita and James in the gondola --- but James without skis!! How's the trip going? How far to Canada? And then fly home? Greetings
Hello George! It is funny seeing me in a gondola with no skis. Only 7 months until ski season again :-). We are now in Canada for a few days before the last leg of this cruise which will drop us in Seattle, Washington. Take care!
Hello James Hello Carmelita. How's it going far out in the South Pacific? Still in Tahiti? Everything's fine ? How will you travel further? Plane ? Ship? Next destination? I'm wondering, what do you think about your visit to the Great Barrier Reef? Were you there for the first time? But you've probably watched films about GBR on TV many times? Because movies on TV show everything so beautiful... I have also seen many movies about GBR. all beautiful, colorful, wonderful. But I have also read many current reviews about this region, which say that climate change has caused many unfavorable changes in this wonderful place. Do you also feel this way? Today is Sunday, May 5, 8 PM. It's still cold here in Germany. This morning only +3° C. I often watch your beautiful films from France, Switzerland and Italy. It calms me down and allows me to move to the beautiful places of my dreams, mountains, snow and skiing that I like so much. I often watch UT and USA ski regions. In this way I can see what I have never seen before and will never see again. When I was in Poland, I showed your videos from the Dolomites to my family... they liked them very much!!! Of course, they are subscribers of your YOU TUBE page!!! I wish you good weather and good rest throughout your holidays!!! Regards George
Hi George! We are now between Hawaii and Canada - still on the boat. The Great Barrier Reef was showing signs of Bleaching. Our next big trip will be RVing to Alaska to catch salmon. It’s still a long time to ski season! We will keep ourselves busy until the snow starts falling again. Well wishes to you and your family! PS. THANK YOU FOR SHARING OUR CHANNEL WITH YOUR FAMILY! Please tell them thank you for the subscriptions.
Hello James Hello Carmelita!! I guess it's a beautiful holiday time there in the South Pacific?? Is this your first visit to these parts of the world? I hope everything is going well and you can move from place to place with peace of mind. This huge ship? Incredible !!! How long will you be in Tahiti? We returned from Poland the day before yesterday. It was cold, down to minus 5 degrees, rain and even snow. Terrible - such weather is very rare at this time of year in Poland. Today is May 1st. Holiday !! It's warm !! We wish you wonderful further days of your journey. Regards George and Sylwia
Hello George! Great to hear from you. We have another 13 days left on this holiday. Much of the weather we experienced was beautiful. Early Fall conditions. Carmelita and I are well and enjoying life! Take care.
I was up in that area back in about '86. It was too late in the season to ski but I still had a blast with the locals. Your videos make me realize that I need to make it back up there during skiing season.
Appreciate you watching and commenting. The Dolomites are so beautiful we will be visiting again in ski season, but also they are now on our bucket list for exploring in the summer. Take care!
Hi again! The orange route is a little better. The ronda is fun but not the best skiing in the area. Try the Alba-Pozza side system. And go to Seceda and the La Longia piste. And if you have really good weateer and good snow, the "Grande guerra" tour is a real adventure! And now you can ski all the way to Cortina and back! Oh i must go back again! This year we had less than perfect weather so the long tours was impossible!
Hello! Thanks for the recommendations. We will try those the next time we get to the Dolomites. We are in love with the Dolomites and will no doubt return to ski more of them!
hi, thanks for sharing ! we are restricted by time and wondering if we were to cut shot the journey, which part would you recommend we cut out and how do we continue from to breakpoints through public transportation assuming it's available ? thanks!
Hello, Our least favorite part of the journey was approaching Vigo, in Vigo, and leaving Vigo. Others like that section, but our favorite sections are in the countryside and smaller towns. Vigo is a large city. There is plenty of public transportation along the way. Just remember if you are wanting a certificate of completion, you will need to walk at least the last 100 km from which ever way you choose, and get your camino passport stamped a couple times each of those days during the last 100 km. Sincerely, James and Carmelita
