This is a rough representation of my experience playing this level as a child... except I never actually found the door at 8:42, so this was basically the final level of the game for me until many years later. Even as an adult I wasn't able to notice that damn misalligned texture!
I really enjoy the environments and the atmosphere in this game. I know it's cliche to use the whole 'liminal spaces' thing to describe it but that's genuinely the vibe I get. It has a lot of big open dimly lit spaces that feel unfinished in an almost meditative kind of way.
I actually tried to get the demo of this working in Dos back in the day and it just stubbornly refused. I could tell the Universe was trying to send me a message because no other game had done that before and I had played some obscure bullshit, let me tell you.
The voxels seem a bit lacking on any humanoid enemy up close. If the voxels could be 4 to 10 times small I think it would smooth things out geometrically even if you don't blend the colors for increased pixel resolution.
This should’ve already been a thing. I’m surprised there hasn’t been a full fledged release for GZDoom. It’s cool to see stuff like this being done in build. Hopefully the communities sprite share and we can get a true “Champions” game. Needs to be done with the SW, RR, Tekwar, etc sprites also.
Cannot find a game IWAD (doom.wad, doom2.wad, heretic.wad, etc.). Did you install GZDoom properly? You can do either of the following: 1. Place one or more of these wads in the same directory as GZDoom. 2. Edit your gzdoom-username.ini and add the directories of your iwads to the list beneath [IWADSearch.Directories] Unable to program?
