My first time on your channel. It's too bad you never used the cc for the English translations. They were used for a lot of the songs on this show. When Dimash came on this show, he only spoke Kazakh and Russian. His first four songs were in French (SOS), Russian (Opera2), English (The Show Must Go On), and Mandarin (Autumn Strong). This is one of my favorites from this show. Yes, those were the other contestants. A couple of them said that it was stressful to have to sing after Dimash. They took him under their wing because he was the youngest and away from home. They were 12-39 years his senior. He lost his voice before one performance and had to go to the hospital for injections in his throat. A male singer purchased an expensive medication for his throat. Even though he was ill, he still did an amazing job. You could see he was still in pain during the performance. Looking at your playlist, there are so many great songs you missed out on hearing. Maybe you will react to Dimash again in the future.
The drummer here [Brooke "Rock Angel" Colucci] was better than their current drummer [Faith Powell ], but some kind of irreconcilable differences came alone and that is they say is that. Faith still kicks ass, but there was something about Brooke that just makes her stand out as a drummer. Anyway, thanks for the reaction!
Couldn't disagree more, he was a master of his craft.didnt sell over 30 million albums for nothing. His live performances are reveered acrross the world all u have to do is ask the famous guitarists he inspired, brian may, slash, eric clapton joe bonamassa etc.
I absolutely love the work. He did with NIN. The fact that when he was nearing 50, he decided to go on tour with Trent Reznor? Not afraid to jump on new things.
I agree, his bass is always on point. Another thing about Bowie's work is his mix of acoustic and electric guitars, especially 12-string. Check it out especially on Ziggy Stardust and Aladdin Sane.
Dragonslayer "fixes" that lofi thing (its also my least favorite, still love it). Listen to them more. You aren't wrong, bass is non-existent in the first three albums and it can be jarring at first, but you get used to it. Camilla and Spencer's vocals mesh beautifully all of the time. They are a fantastic band, and it all has purpose. Imperfection is in the best songs. Dig into this band, they are unique and wonderful.
I've always wondered who is actually playing what guitars on this tune since it came out all those years ago. Of course Fripp is there along with Alomar and Hammer but who's doing exactly what is what I'd like to get a better handle on. I know Fripp was the lead but I think he shared some of those solos.
Thanks for reviewing this wonderful Japan song. Pleasure to watch someone listen to this track for the first time. It's a masterpiece - Mick Karn, - what a unique talent.
Some amazing songs on it but I never liked the sound of 'Gone to Earth'. Too much digital reverb, a lot of prissy/muso playing. On the other hand, Secrets of the Beehive and Brilliant Trees sound perfect to me.
