I'm making my third One Skein Shawl by Marly Bird, it will make a great prayer shawl if made larger. Cinnamon Stitches has a video on how to make a Fudgit Shawl, that would also make a beautiful prayer shawl when finished too. There are so many free patterns to knit or crochet on Ravelry. They have an app for phones.
There are free patterns on Ravelry, I'm making my third One Skein Shawl by Marly Bird, and a lady left a comment about how she made the shawl bigger and changed the edging to make it a prayer shawl. I think any shawl pattern can be used as long as it goes over the shoulders and upper arms. And shrugs are great for giving too. I hope this helps you make shawls to give to people in need. God bless you.
As a graduate of Sacred Heart School, Class of 1970, I wish to add my congratulations and thanks to Sr. Fran for all she has done to continue to be a beacon of hope for the people of the Greenville section of Jersey City. God bless your ministry!
It's nice to hear Sister Mary Ann sing again. Thirty years ago, I accompanied her on trumpet for a couple of Christmas selections in a recording session.
It is very great to hear from you guys and the wonderful experiences you encountered in our village in Santa Cruz Village, Toledo, Belize. I couldn't have been more impressed by your compliments and thoughts of our villagers. Love from Santa Cruz Village. It is also great to see as your guys mentioned that we are still living that simple way of life you guys talked about. Our villagers are really knowledgeable about thier environment and they do try thier best to take care of mother nature as sustainably as possible.
Absolutely beautiful! I was taught all throughout school by the Sisters of Charity but I have the honor of having a WONDERFUL Caldwell Dominican as a Guidance Counselor at Immaculate Conception High School in Montclair, Sister Mary Lou!
From the depth of the heart , I thank you sister KAY , you're a great person . I haven't words to describe what I can say about you ,, so I just say: GOD bless you.
Thank you for this wonderful video of how knitting and prayer can make such a difference. I have decided to start teaching knitting to my church sisters so that we can start a Prayer Shawl group for our small town. Do you get all your patterns from books or online? i would be very interested in the pattern Pat is knitting in the video. God Bless . Robin
