Brett Bartholomew - Founder of Art of Coaching™, teaches coaches & leaders of all types how to navigate power dynamics, difficult personalities & hard conversations so they can get better results.
After nearly losing his life at a young age, in part due to poor communication and medical care- Brett spent 15 years as a strength and conditioning coach serving more than 1,000 elite athletes across 23 sports.
He later went on to publish his best-selling book Conscious Coaching (Amazon), which crossed over into the corporate space (tech, finance, medical) and beyond.
Taken together- the principles in his book workshops, podcast and online courses have been applied to and adopted by world-class athletes, members of the United States Special Forces, Fortune 500 companies, non-profit organizations, and Universities nationwide.
This is helpful not just for presenting in front of an audience, but also having 1 on 1 sessions with clients/patients and keeping things interesting, entertaining, and most importantly, educational for them.
Set the timer on treadmill to stop at your desired walking time. Want to walk 5 minutes, set the timer for 5 minutes and treadmill will stop after 5 minutes
@@intrepidperformancetrainin1798 glad it helped and thanks so much for the comment. We have a podcast and other resources as well that you can find below. artofcoaching.com
Thanks man, this was really insightful. I'm sculpting miniature model aliens that I designed, and my friend is copying them. I've been overthinking this, and your video has put things into perspective for me. Thanks
Brett, thank you so much. I'm a small channel & I did put out some good sewing tutorials, hoping it would help others. I've had sharks come & steal the patterns. They resew the pattern (so there's no digital proof that it's mine), & do everything I did but just change about 1-2% of it to say it is theirs (but it is too much copying - that's infringement under copyright law. Then they remake the video & get more views. It's just happened again, & I feel sick. But the faceless channel cannot teach like me. The larger channel did a bad job in reproducing the garment. What you're saying is logical. If we build ourselves as someone who can deliver it like no one else, our followers will be able to tell when we are bigger than what we are now. That faceless channel out of Turkey cannot teach like I can. She can only copy. They grab other's ideas because they don't know how to be original, so they will not be able to present it like us. All they can do is produce a ripped off video. They can't deliver like the original artist. If I offer a course, I can do that because I know how to teach. They only know how to copy.
@@shearfunsewing exactly. You on the other hand have authentic content that’s representative of actual experience! As long as you keep getting your hands dirty, doing the work and reflecting you’ll always have content and the difference will show between you and the pretenders
People keep copying my video only one person copied when I was using the send it audio, then record a video of melon playground the title name was mewing dash and remember the ID to search it go to use this sound use where that square is find the green face until I upload the video. One person stole one of my videos also the ID was 1:37 years ago
Give it a go! Just check out the details in the description. We did this as a couple so one of us was always there to hit start and stop, kept the weight light and did it as part of a larger circuit! Let us know how it goes and thanks for commenting
I had no idea what i was going to get myself into when attempting to pursue a career as a Strength and Conditioning Coach. This RU-vid channel should be studied at universities. Amazing and truthful. It hurts, but it's definitely needed. Thank you, Brett 🙏🏻
@@attackfive8659 yep! There’s an inherent risk with everything which is why nobody is recommending everyone do this. We simply shared what we did one evening while out of the country on vacation 👍
Thanks! We had a lot of fun making the most out of a simple hotel gym. My wife would start and stop the treadmill then we’d switch. Short amount of time and one part of a circuit
There isn't a hotel in America that would object or care if a guest took the dumbbells and did the farmer's walk in the hallway adjacent to the hotel gym and pool. A guest could even carry the bells up and down the fire stairway.
@@garydouglas9413 that’s awesome. Do what works for you. This hotel gym was in a detached 350 square foot space on the campus in Greece and you weren’t allowed to leave with them. Do what works for you! 👍
I‘m interested in a CSCS and a CPSS, i would like to work with athletes but also interested in fields like sport performance science. Can you add certifications later?
Absolutely. It all just depends on where you’re trying to work (high-school, college, pro, private etc.) each will have their own requirements or standards. CSCS is imperfect (what isn’t) but is most widely recognized in the US. I cover more of this on my podcast as well. artofcoaching.com/podcast/
Mike Boyle and Dan John suggest between ages 11-12 is a good time to start training leaning the basic human movement pattern of push, pull, squat, hinge. Play multiple sports throughout the year not focusing on one sport.
Thanks for sharing. Kids should be introduced to basic movements even earlier than that in my opinion. They don’t have to train with weights at earlier ages, but they should have movement literacy.
I have someone stealing my videos & from others in my niche. I have a video with over 6M views and it’s not the only one they have stolen. But, I didn’t copyright them because I really didn’t think anyone would be so rude. Can I report them!
Hi coach , I’m a soccer coach trying to go to the next level in terms of science of the sport. Can you recommend me a school where I can get certified as Strength and conditioning trainer. Thx!
Hey! Thanks for reaching out. This will depend on the space you’re looking to get into specifically (college S&C, high-school, etc). Do you have a degree? Looking to pursue one? Or just get a cert? Check out these resources as they can be a huge help brettbartholomew.net/careerquestions/
@@Wastekan You either have to jump backwards which can be hard with weights and last option is to call someone around or else you have to keep on doing you farmers walk or accept your fate and fall down
Confused on this. Be sure to seek full context. Me an and a training partner who are both certified strength coaches took turns walking at a low speed with light weights for a short amount of time as a finisher. Everyone has different definitions of risk.🤷🏻♂️
Or you ask your training partner to stop the treadmill. You set the weights down, and then you do the same for them. Which is what was done here. Nowhere do we advocate everyone should do this.
Any exercise or protocol is dangerous if you don’t take precaution- as stated in previous comments this was done with a training partner (the person holding the camera) for a short amount of time, at a light weight and simply for the purposes of adding variety to the finisher of a hotel workout. Nobody should randomly perform an exercise of any kind without taking proper precautions
