With respect to the Lupercalia-Valentine’s connection, most scholars would argue that there is absolutely no connection between the two whatsoever. Lupercalia was celebrated from the 13th to the 15th of February. But here’s the thing - Lupercalia was a very local thing; it was held almost _exclusively_ in Rome. There are only scant references to it being held anywhere else. It was not at all a Roman Empire-wide celebration; thus, could not have possibly been the seeding of some sort of “proto-Valentine’s Day” across Europe. Further, there are no historical records of Lupercalia being celebrated more recent than the end of the 5th century. Further, Lupercalia had very little to do with romance. One *presumed* aspect of the festival that seems to prevail in many modern descriptions is the idea that there would have been a matchmaking lottery of sorts, which supposedly featured girls writing their names on paper that would be drawn from a box by boys, and the couples would be paired up. This supposition is often cited as further evidence of the connection between the ancient festival and Valentine’s Day. There is, however, absolutely zero historical records that suggest boys being paired randomly with girls for participation in the ritual. Indeed, most scholars agree that the concept that Lupercalia featured girls writing their names on paper that would be drawn from a box by boys is likely an 18th-century invention that developed from the English custom of doing the same which seems to have originated in the late 1400’s. In short, the custom of choosing one’s Valentine by lot originated in England around the 1400’s, *not* the Roman Lupercalia. The earliest attested historical record of the Lupercalia comes from the 3rd century BCE, while the last record was from the end of the 5th century CE - around the same time Pope Gelasius I made February 14 into a day that would honor the Christian martyr, Saint Valentine. At no point however does Gelasius speak of compromise, or of adapting any pagan customs. Even though they weren’t far apart chronologically, the supposed symbolic overlap between the two took centuries more to develop, as Valentine’s Day hadn’t yet acquired the romantic meaning it has today. That would only come about 1,000 years later. In the early church, the Feast of St. Valentine would have been a solemn celebration; not the holiday it is today. Indeed, it is quite possible that Gelasius was partly responsible for Lupercalia’s decline. Without this ritual of a supposed lottery at the Roman festival, there appears to be little correlation between the Lupercalia and Valentine’s Day. Further, though there is a calendar overlap, there is zero historical evidence to suggest that one was replaced by another. It is vitally important when writing about traditions to remember that there are only 365 days in the year ... calendar overlap, when it occurs, does not equate to any degree of significance; it’s going to happen. Most mainstream historians agree that Valentine’s Day and romance became associated with each other only in the late 14th century. That’s a pretty huge gap between the late 1300’s and the end of Lupercalia in the 400’s. A thousand year gap where nothing resembling Lupercalia or romance and Valentine’s Day is historically recorded. Almost 1,000 years of complete silence - it strains credulity to suggest the two are in any way related. The association between Valentine’s Day and romance It is thought to have arisen specifically because of the popularity of a few Geoffrey Chaucer’s poems, namely, "Parliament of Foules (Fowls)" and “The Complaint of Mars” which both associated Valentine’s Day and romance. At the time of Chaucer's writing, February 14 also happened to be considered the first day of spring in Britain, because it was the beginning of birds' mating season-perfectly appropriate for a celebration of affection. In addition, this was also the time of a concept known as “courtly love” in Europe. Given the above, it would seem, under closer examination, that a supposed connection between Valentine’s Day and the Roman Lupercalia lies solely within the realm of some very wishful thinking. Not celebrating Valentine’s Day because of its alleged association with Lupercalia (i.e., that it has a supposed pagan origin) holds absolutely no historical validity whatsoever, yet some religious denominations just can’t seem to let go of this false and completely erroneous connection.

The TRUE God is the God of Abraham, the God of Moses and YES the God of Jesus. Even Jesus has a God and father himself. Just one point here, well not so little, Jesus did NOT die on a cross but rather an upright stake (Grk Stauros) or upright pole ! Ex 3:14 here God is explaining the meaning behind his name which is Ye-hovah. Research based on recent ancient manuscripts now digitised and put online , such as the Allepo Codex, and the Royal MS 16 A II available online at the British museum which have the tetragrammaton with the VOWEL POINTS, the vowel points being the "Sheva, the Cholem & the Kamatz. There is also a clue in the names of people in the Bible whose names were made up in part from the names of their gods, referred to as THEOPHORIC NAMES IN THE BIBLE,,,,,,theophoric names are names derived from a god. For example: False gods: Bel and Nebo: Bel = Belteshazar (Daniel) Nebo = Nebonidus, Nebuchadnezzar, True God Yeho(vah) ….Yehoyakim, Yehoram, Yehoshua, Yehoshaphat, Yehudah, Yehoash , Jeho-a-haz The CLUE is in the name.

What is your question my friend?
@whiterosesforthebrideofchrist
The Apostle Paul pronounced a curse on most Christian churches today because the main Christian denominations of today preach a different gospel than what Paul preached. To quote exactly what Paul said, “But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.” (Galatians 1:8). Both apostle Paul and Peter preached the same gospel and quote from the prophet Joel (2:32) saying, "For whosoever shall call upon the name of Yahweh shall be saved." (Romans 10:13 and Acts 2:21). The English translations say “Lord” instead of “Yahweh.” But “Lord” does not translate “Yahweh” it is a substitution of a totally different word altogether. This substitution activates two additional curses because if you substitute a word you are both adding and subtracting at the same time. “For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” (Revelation 22:18, 19) We are commanded by Messiah that, “...repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.” (Luke 24:47). In other words, we are supposed to preach the gospel that came out of Jerusalem and not preach the gospel that came out of Antioch, or Rome, or England, or New York, or Chicago, etc. By the time the gospel got to Antioch it had already been perverted as we read, “...And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.” (Acts 11:26). The problem with this is that YHWH spoke of a people called by His name (Deuteronomy 28:10; 2 Chronicles 7:14; Isaiah 43:6, 7; Daniel 9:19; Amos 9:12; Acts 15:17). YHWH did not choose the name “Christian” for Himself. The people of Antioch chose that name and all the so called main denominations of today embrace that name “Christian” for themselves. When Peter and Paul preached the gospel they quote the prophet Joel, “Whosoever shall call on the name of YHWH shall be saved.” (Joel 2:32; Acts 2:21; Rom. 10:13). The English word "Lord" is not a translation for the name YHWH but is a substitution. I ask you, how many of the church fathers and so called main denominations of today preach that gospel? None of them. Absolutely none! Paul makes it very clear that the end result of him preaching the gospel was that the people would call on the name YHWH. He says in (Rom. 10:14,15), The preachers are sent. They preach. The people hear. The people believe. The people call on the name YHWH (Rom. 10:13). I ask you, how many of the church fathers and so called main denominations of today preach that gospel? None of them. Absolutely none! It took only one generation after the death of Joshua for the children of Israel to forget the mighty works of YHWH which He had worked through Moses and Joshua and to began to serve the elohim of the heathen people around them (Judges 2:7-13). It took only one generation! The mighty works are available for us today if we preach the same gospel that Peter and Paul preached. ... ... ... ...
