Do these guys hang the drywall panels also? Or go they just finish them? I’m hoping they hang them too since I’m looking to get into something pretty labor intensive as well lol
This is the worst representation of explaining what needs to be done to be accepted in a UNION painting environment I think I have ever seen. Your explanations are delivered in such a way that YOU do not know what you are talking about. If you can not explain it simply, you have no idea what you are talking about.
Looks like a test for house painters....where's the test for bridges, water tanks, towers etc.. If you come to one of my Industrial projects and claim to be a journeyman simply because you passed this test...I will send you home. Real experience = Real journeyman.
I would like to join the union. Am responsible. I work from monday trhu friday. Overtime or saturdays if need it. No drugs, no drinking or smoking. I can roll , cut in, prep, mask etc. Unfortunately the company i use to work for wasn't union. United as family. Alot of envy and no oportunities to grow. I had to buy my own spray pump to train my self how to spray when i got a side job . One time i ask a formen about the meaning of tge spray tips numbers and he wouldn't tell me. Later on i find out my cell on the web or asking on the store. I am located in los angeles. Where is this company located at ??

hi I was a Glaziers for 25 30 years worked at last company 15. why working for the company they had us working in terrible conditions with the owners brother-in-law. we were trying to close up a set of Windows nobody brought tarps. and I jogged over to pick up some tools for a good board of this window. Misstep and tore my meniscus. their workmans comp said it was a pulled muscle. work like that for four weeks left the company had to get a lawyer. went to another workmans comp doctor told him the symptoms. he said I needed an MRI now that was after two or three months. trying to go to the other workmans comp doctor from my company they would not let see me. there's something wrong here company shouldn't do that to an employee that's been with him 15 years. it was a non union company Two Rivers glass and door des Moines Iowa West Des Moines.
I worked non union for 3 Years as an apprentice, got hurt bad on the job at one of these scab glass shops , we were setting a tall piece of 1/2 in tempered( don’t remember the exact dimensions) when it popped and it all came down on my hand cut two tendons, got surgery, and a little therapy for it until workers comp cut it short and then when I was released back to work I got fired. Luckily I was already talking to a lawyer before that. So I took my entry exam with my local union , passed and now I’m just waiting for my settlement to go through. Union always beats these non union fucks no matter what is said Glazier local 636!!
Hey Edgar is in there! I worked with him, he's a good worker, good spray man. All I ever saw him do though was mask and spray off the scissor lift and then I went to another job. I would recommend going union if you want a retirement pension someday and health benefits. It's hard work and you take a lot of crap but unless you find some non-union maintenace job it's the way to go.
I was dying at the end of this video with the girl bending over to the floor off the bench...... Would it be easier if I did it off the floor.. Uh YEAH!
