This BMS gives me a few problems, after the battery is charged 100%, the voltage output becomes 0.3v less than the battery voltage and when I connect it to a charger it doesn't charge, for it to start charging again I have to short the positive of bms with 0V of the battery giving 12.6v in output and it charges again, please help to fix this issue and this bms does not have a short circuit protection, the transistors will burst if you short the output
Horrible idea to show all people your "skills" via internet... 1) not shown: testing of all cells of their capacity and internal resistance. 2) not shown: do all shown cells provide the same cell chemistry? This means, that all cells can support with same maximum discharge an charging current... Normally the cells provide a serial number printed on. So not only the dimension (18650) is the thing to be paid attention, more the less the numbers beneath chraracterize their chemistry and further their electrical characteristics. Also you mix all different coloured cells together - did u do so randomly? All the cells seems to be used cells.... 3) not shown: matching of cells. The best BMS can't help if one of the parallel cells is dying. 4) shown: soldering cells directly with soldering tin.... high temperatures (250-300°C) hurts cells. They should be spot-welded. 5) no temperature control/sensor or fuse is provided to the BMS or inside the battery pack. 6) no thermal prooved isolation tape is used to isolate the whole package. Only 5cm of Capten tape for BMS... 7) but not enough - the "sealed" battery pack is packed into a used and closed old battery container. No thermal airflow possible. Do you want to kill the pack when power-treated in your application? Last but not least: 8) Min. 10:13: you soldered the 8,2V BMS-point to the 4,1V bridge at the cells. This shows perfectly that you really know what you are doing. NOT!!! Also you do not tell people that this battery can replace a normal lead battery block. A lead battery can be charged up to 15V without being harmed. If you replace this in your vehicle with your DIY-battery you have to consider that the maximum charging voltage must not be higher that 12,6V. So every voltage regulator in your vehicle will shoot this battery! Wish u good luck and happy time - finding the error in this battery pack or when burning down in a Li-Ion fire. You are doing a good job - NOT to support the way going electric. It's your fault when newspapers are full of reports when electric vehicles are burning down...
It depends, what cells you have, Iam making now a pack with 4s3p lifepo4 at 12V and 7,5Ah, its about 150Amps, so sure, you can start a car with it (Iam making it for my wifes motorcycle)
@@klukzgaraze Thank you for your quick response. In Brazil they sell an emergency device for when the vehicle's battery discharges. It's the size of a VHS tape, very small, and costs something close to 50 U$, very cheap. It remains to be seen how many deep discharges it will withstand. I would like to know this approximate number. Thank you and best wishes for more success.
This shows in great details how not to do it. Never solder. Do not use unbalanced en different batteries. But you fail to mention that you need a special charger. Do not use a car or ordinary charger. It is risking your life. People when you have no idea about the circuit you should NOT attempt to do this. The idea is great to use an old box but please rsalize that the battery is not compatible. I also do not see any temperature sensor. It is only good when you send it to Putin as a gift.
