Jack is op bc of his his range and enhanced moves. He can shut down every approach option with ease. He is extremely easy to rank up with it takes 0 skill

He is balanced. There are just people who spam that one move because they dont wanna learn how to play him. Which happens with all characters. Mortys spam that ground move, stevens spam uppers same with black adam, wonder womans that shield, iron giant that spin move and i wont list all characters but they all have moves that get spammed by some players. Its just that the attention is on him since he is new
The problem is not that jack is super strong which he is it’s that they for example gut smith in the same patch take away almost all his combos and bring in jack at the same time to the point where you’d have been grinding smith for 2 weeks just so a 10 year old can come in wait a day 1 Jack and completely obliterate and cancel out all the work you’ve done
Jack only has 2 things in his kit that are good. He’s got a good jab and side special. I don’t understand all the crying when it tells you where he’ll land, you can dodge the unempowered one and jump over the basic and empowered special. In 2s the side special spam is enabled cus usually their teammate is front lining so he can spam from behind and your teammate doesn’t help pressure.
I dont think jack is broken. But i literally just sent an email to MVS on how jack just spamm side special in 2v2... and the reason why it works - its cause there's no window to punish. All of his moves are practically dodge cancel-able because jack can spam almost any move and recover for a dodge instantly. And jack does have a loop, the simple 3-jab hit, (opponent bounces off the floor increasing hitstun) ya can just dash and continue the same... Just like batman dash attack, jacks side special can be nerfed. Jack players will have to be picky about using it...
You’re looking at balance completely wrong there is potential for him to be strong and still get nerfed, move cooldowns longer start up for side special. He is broken whether a jack player admits it or not
Yeah but hes just so ez to play and got so big hitboxes so everybody "is good with him". Just nerf his first jab hit either frame startup delay or hitbox horizontal nerf. And his side b to make to not so spamable and more predictable for the enemy: Dont let jack change its direction. Just let him tilt it up or downwards at the input.
The problem with balancing is character design and hitbox/hurtbox. Characters with melee weapons are significantly stronger than those without which forces a meta. Agent smith, shaggy, Batman, Jake etc… are thrown down the tier list in competitive due to not having enough range as characters like Jack, Arya, Harley, WW,, Finn etc… this design will only be more apparent and the devs will have to make busted specials for fist characters in the future for them to even compete.
Against iron giant I just spam side special.. Even tho they know it’s coming it’s hard for them to avoid it no matter what they do. I’m also a diamond 4 jack and I can’t win against Morty, Taz, and Arya in some cases. Just beat the rank 1 WW last night and only gained 11 RP
I gotta try this against iron giant, yea Arya and morty are a problem for Jack, with taz try and use his nutural attack the one where he spins if you hit that above taz it goes through most of his moves
whats up with the fucked up rp in this games ranked mode…lol ive been hard stuck in gold 3 cuz im only getting 10 points per win and ive heard it only gets worse
People who think jack is balanced have to be dumb or sum. All his moves literally have priority over any other move and his attack hit boxes are huge. Plus the speed of his attacks and the damage.😂
fyi, a disconnection penalty is -5 RP, while a lose in match is -20 (for me at least). I discovered that cause my matches kept failing to match up for some odd ass reason. But really only -5 for disconnection is a horrible penalty?
I don't know if you read your comments section. But when it comes to off ledge for Jack, I tend to use down special instead of down attack to try and spike them.
yeah sometimes i use his down special i just dont use it that much because it knocks them up/sideways instead of just straight down like his down attack does
I dont understand can a samurai jack hater please tell me whats so wrong with him. I understand his side special is a little fast but you can easily be bait it and up/down dodge or just parry it. And other than that he just has a few big hit boxes but that will be fixed later.
I think you have a fair chance to win against every character once you have the knowledge , but w samurai jack if your attacks whiff your eating a combo everytime no way around because of obvious reasons. Only way to outplay him his by teching his dodges , since you really can’t whiff punish nothing but his specials. Someone who just picked up the game can pick him up and spam up to plat ez
Study the enemy’s movements and if u lose the first time try to counter every attack in round two or simply just keep winning and u will reach the rank u want

He is very strong for sure the problem is everyone just calls something broken just because it’s strong, they want every character to have the same combo and do the same damage and that’s just not realistic. Some characters will be stronger then the other, that’s just how it goes in fighting games
