Classic live album from a classic group. I've always dug Howard Scott's guitar solo on this cut. It starts out simple then he steps on his wah pedal and attacks his Gibson ES345 with aggression! He does the same type of solo on the song "Get Down". Yessir!!

Original Album version for me though, the live versions dont capture that wicked vibe of that original....the live versions are user friendly compared to that sinister album cut.
Its great to hear garry shider in full funk mode. I was at alot of show in his last years and his vocals and health were on the decline...RIP starchild.
The best version I heard is the 10 minute version on the P Funk All Stars live at Beverly Theater 1993 which is on RU-vid.... Moodyman does a mix of Cosmic Slop where he strips away the guitars, slows the tempo down a tad bit and brings up the bass guitar and adds a George Clinton voice over and it's about 13 minutes long.... This version good though
A great, live rendition. It is smooth, true but not over the top ( which I also like ). Ronnie keeps it clear and down home. Ernie lays it out with a bit of a “who’s that lady ?” mid-70s feel on it.
Not the best but pretty good. Another good one is, Joe Louis Arena Detroit 1979, they opened with Alice in my Fantasies, then segwayed i to Comic Slop mindblowing. Best version I think is off the Album Hardcore Jollies.

FUNKMASTER254 - " AKA MAGGOTBRAIN " Definitely one of the best LIVE VERSIONS ever laid down by these FUNKMEISTERS , this is one deep heavy, funky, melodic, lyrically meaning songs in their repertoire, always look forward to hearing this song played live - this coming August - 2018 - at our music fest here in Rochester NY - although current line up on guitars is nothing like the originals on their MOTHERSHIP CONNECTION TOUR in 1976 - Houston Texas ,to me it is still a critically acclaimed live song anticipated to be played along with Maggot Brain. God Bless for all the original members who have passed on and no longer with us - who were so awesome, influential and great - and way ahead of their time. Thanks.
