Hello. To view Stream views you should be able to see the view count below the video when you open it. You can also open the analytics tab on the right hand side for more detail but you cannot see individual viewers.
Yes that is due to rollout from August onwards. We are keeping a close-eye on this! techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/education-blog/what-s-new-in-microsoft-teams-for-education-august-2023/ba-p/3888596#grades
Thanks for the video. Currently the only way to ‘push’ a copy of a Word doc for each student to edit is via Assignments, which is then easy for teacher to track student progress. Does this in any way improve that process or are these just reference materials not intended for editing?
Hello, yes exactly right this is for reference materials. However you can add assignments into the classwork modules so the student can access both reference material and worksheets to edit from classwork. We have released some further videos for more detail!
Thank you so much for this. i thought i had turned off notifications but they were still popping up on my screen. Such relief i can turn pop ups off as i just left a job, moving onto another. Not sure if new job might use teams as well. and old job may need me back ad hoc but don't want to see constant daily messages.
Hi. This is focusing on Word or other 365 apps. If you would like to dictate across other applications then you may be looking for the in-built dictation in Windows support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/use-voice-typing-to-talk-instead-of-type-on-your-pc-fec94565-c4bd-329d-e59a-af033fa5689f
Microsoft have announced future updates: "In the future, we plan to add reuse capabilities to the app that will allow you to easily reuse the materials you have created in previous classes or terms. This will save time and effort when setting up your Teams and allow you to improve your teaching and refine your lesson plans year after year." techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/education-blog/introducing-teams-classwork-the-one-stop-shop-for-managing-your/ba-p/3767025
Do you have any idea if the attached docs are read only? I do not have students right now (summertime) to test, and I do not want students accidentally typing right in the word docs; I want them to just be a read only reference. Thanks!
Hi, great question. The files are read-only to students. They will have to download a copy to edit them. You can attach assignments which would be a good way to allow students to edit their own copies.
Hi, good question. If you undo turn-in and upload a new document and resubmit it, the teacher will no longer be able to see the old document. Your teacher may have seen the old document if they had time to look. Make sure you check that the teacher has not added any comments into a document before you delete it as it may contain some useful suggestions. If you can, try and edit the exisiting document to avoid confusion. If the teacher has added feedback/graded your work in Teams then that will not be removed but the teacher may choose to change the feedback/grade for your new submission. Hope that helps.
Strange I don't have the option for CDB Section Breaks. I am created a Commuications Site (as Full Width section isn't available on standard Teams Site) but still no joy.
This article may help you with adding a column based on retention label support.microsoft.com/en-gb/office/apply-retention-labels-to-files-in-sharepoint-or-onedrive-11a6835b-ec9f-40db-8aca-6f5ef18132df
This system needs a ton of improvements. There should have been a way to save the attachment within the said email. So now for e:g instead of creating one folder to save correspondence the user now has to create a bunch of individual folders for emails with attachments.
Hi CH. Great ideas. OneDrive does create an attachments folder if you save attachments to OneDrive from Outlook but this is not great for sharing with your team. For a group email you can use power automate to save email attachments into a SharePoint library automatically powerautomate.microsoft.com/en-in/blog/use-our-new-office-365-groups-mail-connector/
Great video. I've just enabled the Viva Connections app within teams with the intention of setting my Intranet as the home page but discovered that my Intranet still uses the classic site and now i am creating a new Home page. I like the huge navigation menu style shown in the video, do you have a how-to video for this?
Hi Renae, to do that you would have to use Power Automate. If you are familiar with this there are guides in Microsoft Learn. learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-automate/teams/send-a-message-in-teams
Great question! You can switch off the 'message preview' so you will get a banner but no message content shown. Under 'Appearance and Sound' toggle the 'Show message preview' option to off. Great if you are screen sharing and do not want to share the contents of your messages but still have that visual reminder. However you will still see the name of the sender.
Hi Ibn. Forms will be able to import answers too if they are numbered or bulleted under your question. It will also attempt to select the correct answer based on AI, but it is still worth checking it is correct!
@@Clouddesignbox It didn't select the answer and i had to answer manually. It imported the questions and choices but didn't answer it I'm just wondering if there is a way or code to write next to the correct answer to save time rather than manual answering. And i didn't see anything about AI automatically answer
@@Clouddesignbox Ok, now that I'm a Site collections admin, I still don't see the Viewers feature under site features. Does it need to be added some how in the Sharepoint admin portal? I'm running 2019 server
Hi Hugh. When importing there is a 'See import guidance' option for some tips. You can browse the tips here: support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/convert-a-word-or-pdf-form-or-quiz-to-microsoft-forms-66b7e9bc-eb0d-4c65-b7e6-f9f92dcd71cb#:~:text=Import%20a%20file%201%20Start%20at%20forms.office.com%20.,import%20another%20form%20or%20quiz%2C%20select%20Import%20another.
@@Clouddesignbox those guidelines are really poor (polite version!) Now having experimented somewhat, the import routine is clearly pretty poor too. Using headings to set up subsections produces utter confusion and out-of-sequence material! Including a list of possible answers being truncated into a short set of options and then a solid block of text made out of the rest - total nonsense.
@@hughdixon2193 Hi Hugh thanks for the feedback. We hope that Microsoft keep building on the import technology. Not great if it takes a lot of admin time for complex quizzes. For new or really complex quizzes it may be quicker to start from new in Forms itself.
Sir, the real-world requirement would be to know who has ~not~ responded. Is there an easy way to accomplish this using forms? Or an easy way using anything? Thanks.
Hi David, Yes, it's much more complicated to find out who hasn't read a document. This video is a very simple example of using Forms in a small business. I think most medium/large organisations would use something like Adobe Sign or DocuSign to track who has responded. You could do this in Flow and Forms, however it would be very time consuming to develop and support (you might be better getting a third party product like Adobe sign rather than spend the time developing your own). To do that in Flow and Forms, you would have to have a list of all the staff in something like SharePoint, a separate list for who the policies have been sent out to and the status. There would then be several flows required, a flow to fire off an email to all the staff in the list (and add them to the policy sent list). Another Flow to match up the incoming responses with the policy sent list. It would get even more complicated if you had policy updates to send out or if you had to track multiple types of policy confirmations or new people join the business. Maybe that's a video for another day!
This is fantastic. I just followed your instructions and yes, it works. I have to organise my resources in a suitable place. I currently do not have access to save resources to Sharepoint but will look into it. Many thanks. Going to binge-watch a few more :-)😀😅
Hi Salma try typing "forms.office.com" into your web browser and you should see the option. If you are accessing from 365 then scroll to the bottom of your forms list and click "All My Forms -->" and that also takes you to the correct page.
