BBC Midlands Today is 50 years old. As part of the celebrations we are working with the Digital Cultural Heritage Demonstrator Project, based at the University of Birmingham's Digital Humanities Hub, to explore ways of using a computer table to enable visitors to access the BBC Midlands Today archive. Here are a selection of the films that we have added to the computer table - which will be in the Public Space at the Mailbox in Birmingham - and other films that we thought you might remember and enjoy.
Tom Coyne, a Midlands Today legend during my formative years. He started before either my brother Anthony or I was born. The new studio era took place when I was a mere toddler. Tom looks hardly recognisable in old age. I am now 52!
