Welcome to the official RU-vid channel for the National Deaf Children's Society, the leading charity dedicated to creating a world without barriers for deaf children and young people.
We make videos with deaf young people and their families so others can benefit from their ideas and advice.
Which region of the UK is this sign used in most? I’ve never seen this sign for green. I’ve seen the one where you brush your forearm from wrist to elbow.
When I fail to hear 👂 👂 properly with my ears 👂 👂 switched on, I honestly cry 😭 is because I have a vulnerable personality. I was born with hearing loss in both ears 👂 👂. My hearing is worse on the left ear 👂 than the right ear 👂 and I wear two 2️⃣ hearing aids 🦻 🦻 in both ears 👂 👂 everyday. A person 🧍♀️ is named Samantha Randall Franklin who is born autistic was born with normal hearing that I think 🤔 she now wears two 2️⃣ hearing aids 🦻🦻in both ears 👂 👂 is born on Thursday 18th November 1976 who wears glasses 👓 🤓. In 1994, Samantha Franklin the autistic girl 🧒 asked me why I didn’t speak 🗣️ to her, I said “I hate you”, slapped 👋 her face in, she cried 😭 and I said “Serves you right” that she was picked on by the school 🏫 bullies until 1993 is perhaps 🤔 she’s autistic. I last saw Samantha Franklin in Plymouth, south Devon in the southwest of England 🏴 on Tuesday 29th November 2022. I was born with moderate hearing. I have hearing loss is 60%. 👍
There are four 4️⃣ different types of hearing are mild, moderate, severe and finally profound 🧐 hearing loss. My hearing loss is 60% which it’s moderate. I was born with hearing loss. Most people can lose their hearing at any age and I’m not joking 🙃. The batteries 🪫 🔋 in th3 hearing aids 🦻 🦻 lasts for around perhaps 🤔 two 2️⃣ weeks. When I cross ❎ the roads 🛣️ , be careful to look 👀 at the left and right previously before I cross ❌ the roads 🛣️. 👍

All the best to E102 students. This video is going to be very different to my usual RU-vid feed!! (Which is largely Motorbikes, Tech or Woodworking reno projects)
If you’re here with the OU, studying E102 then hello, good luck and keep focused. Anyone else not using anywhere near 16 hours per week? I’m doing about 12 for both E102 and DE100. I’m guessing it picks up when essays kick in or after Christmas break. Seems too calm and manageable to be honest. Must say it’s better than going to a brick uni as I’m literally studying from my phone/iPad on the go. Nevertheless, good luck with week 3 and beyond 🎉
@@georgiaforman528 yeah, especially when it says “you should allocate 2 hours to this task” and I’ve finished in 25 minutes 😬 I suppose the first tma will be very telling as to whether im getting it correct lol
@@georgiaforman528 Same. I have two kids and work part time and I feel like I'm falling behind but I'm managing the activities and it all looks like I'm keeping up. I just feel like I must be missing something somewhere. Glad I'm not the only one!
I love that you have theas on her for free but can I recommend that you show the models doing the same Jester several times, its difficult to see what's happening in just the one time sometimes.
Thanks for vid, i well understand this situation, I am not totally deaf and do wear hearing aid.Sometimes in busy places very difficult to filter outside noise when in a conversation. Yes I know can avoid places and l do try not always easy socially. Also low voice tones not easy to hear and of course mumbling
It's great to see parents accepting their child for who she will be when she becomes a fluent signer and not to erode it by ignoring her deafness and making do with lipreading/lipspeaking.
I'm so grateful for these videos, one of my grand babies is mute and I need to learn how to teach her how to communicate using sign language. Thank you!
Should radio aids for home be provided through the hospitals that provide hearing aids/ cochlear implants, through social care or through education? When the Roger system shown in the video costs about £1000, it is important to be clear about where this should be funded from, and how it should be insured. What is the NDCS recommending?
Aren't there kids that are orally deaf ? Why aren't they signing ? I have.a neurological disability called Auditory Processing Disorder which means that the part of my brain used for hearing is impaired. Anyone here, have that level of deafness ?
Hi there - deaf young people are all different and so don't all use the same type of communication. Some use British Sign Language or Sign Supported English, or speak or use a mix of all them. The young people in this video all decided to use speech in this video.
Can you explain how you're doing the sign??? I can't make it out from front view need to see side view. My son's name is Chord and we need to know it in sign language.
Hi Donna - we made this with a company who are experts in British Sign Language so aren't the best people to explain this to you. Sorry! But you could try slowing it down by manually using the play button?
