Definitely want to show my talent to family in friends all thanks to you! You’ve given me such great advice to feel confident and support my love for singing! 💗
Yes, there is only one YOU. So you are unique and therefore your sound is unique as well. The secret is allowing your true self come through in your sound. You do need to do other work but when you allow yourself this freedom it makes a world of difference in your sound.😃
It’s so exhausting to pay attention to all the issues at once 😭 Definitely helpful advice. It’s so easy to be discouraged by it, so I need to clear my mind!
Hello @mikochops Thank you for leaving a comment. 🤩 Even more than clearing your mind. Believe that you can handle things one step at a time. Have you been singing a long time?
Hello @MsszShimae-maemaeivey I heard a little of your singing. I can see you love to express yourself with singing, you have notes of things you want to express for lyrics. This is really good. Thank you for leaving a comment. Try out some exercise videos for variety of pitches.
I think you meant "most amount of sound for the least amount of energy" I did notice in interviews that Bon Jovi speaks in a very low voice, like a baritone these days, probably with not enough pitch variation. He did mention in an interview that he had taken vocal lessons in the past with a voice teacher, Katie Agresta. And he is working with voice therapists. (and probably vocal instructors as well) I think the surgery pushes the folds closer together, to compensate for the weaker fold (paresis?), and get better closure, but not sure if it will get him back his upper range, or the ability to sing for 2.5 hours, 4 nights a week which he said is his goal. I wonder if he may possibly be overworking his voice, doing too many interviews and possibly even doing too much voice therapy.
Hello @HumbleTrader001, All you've said makes a lot of sense. Yes, he has been doing a lot of interviews and so using up his voice and speaking too low which is wearing down vocal strength. Bringing the vocal folds into full closure will depend on the exercises, breathing and support with singing. But Bon Jovi must change to his optimum pitch to give his voice the chance it needs to repair. His goal may challenge his ability but only he can make the decisions as his voice responds. As for the voice therapy, it has to be centered around all aspects of his voice both speaking and singing. Hopefully who he is going to knows all of what he and his voice needs. Let's pray for him. He is such a wonderful person.
Great advice, Marquita. Loved this new rendition of Misty, one of my favorite songs. You actually helped me with that song a long time ago when I was your student. Thank you for these videos. I really enjoy them!!
Hi Raquel, So appreciate you commenting. Wow, It was a minute since you took private singing lessons. I didn't even think twice, just sang Misty even though iI was congested and not warmed up. Still loved singing it. I know you did too. 😀
Glad to see you’re feeling great! It does take some time but you’ll soon see the difference! Especially once both eyes heal a couple months down! Patience, we all need some 😂
