Great as John and Paul's ability as a song writing duo was, if it wasn't for George, it wouldn't have been the Beatles that millions of people still love.
I first heard this song on the radio before going to grade school I couldn't get out of my head i hum it all day long drove every one bonkers I still sing this song in the shower lol
Lovely. Almost Magical Mystery Tour like, hence Neil Innes of Bonzos pushing George in pram. Watch him hide his grin as George emerges. Eric Idle, producer in beard scene near end.
Well. I *LOVE* this song! Showcases George’s musical ability to have fun and really use that brilliant imagination of his. The video is brilliant! 🔥🫶🏽😍 Amazing as always!
Neil Innes in a variety of costumes and Eric Idle sitting in the armchair - both members of the yet-to-be Rutles. And George’s wife Olivia, on the bed in a basque - blimey. But not George’s finest moment, God bless him.
Yup, the dude who sued Noel Gallagher for allegedly stealing 'How sweet to be an idiot' for 'Whatever'. Still seems like a big old stretch of the imagination, yet he won...
@@jmc6720 Well, you say 'rightly' but I'll agree to disagree on that. There's a really brief riff at the start of Innes' song that could be construed to be similar to that opening of Whatever, but the key is still out on it (for me). The rest has zero similarity. Agreed, Noel is the master of 're-working' several other tunes and making them his own.😅

Cool song... somewhat wrong about the details. Hood had bigger guns, Hood began firing first, hood got the first hit and it went right through the I Bismarck's oil tanks, Bismarck was fine but leaking fuel, easier to track. Hood and Prince of Wales VS Bismarck and a Pocket battleship. Prince of Wales had total main gun malfunction. Bismarck and the Po key battleship effectively allowed Prince of Wales to escape
That flag was the Imperial War Ensign of Germany, flown in the German Navy from 1933 - 1945. It was flown only on special occasions, such as the christening ceremony of the Bismarck where the footage is from.
In 1962, my dad was stationed on a ship in Bremerton, WA. One day, while visiting, a young Sailor, with a guitar, sat on the deck and sang this song. So many years later, I still remember.
