Now I'm making racing game (and possibly other) videos to share my knowledge! For my day job, I work on the #01/#3 Cadillac V-Series.R!
This problem plagued me early on another thing to consider if its happening to you is wheel options wider or offset wheels can cause it. I do not think the rim size does
Unfortunately motion controls suck in Gt7. It was perfect in GT sport. In GT7 theres a lack of rumble where a loss of grip should be and turn in is bugged.
that #1 hated race from me. DId after countless of hours maybe even 40-50+ so many cars and tactics - only that did work i ran out of fuel by mistake end of lap 17 and then i continued to lap 31 with amg '20 but still barely won by a fracture of like 0.400 lead or something - those guys behind are absolutely pushing limits and u cant ever catch a decent gap even doing 1.57s for most taking into consideration at the point i had under 10% thread on tires and still pushing high 1.57 was no chance of pulling away even with a second. The update has made it way worse than they were on the clip recorded. They can be beaten but surely not within a minute anymore. I got lead in 2,5 laps with 1st place but after 1st pit back again to 12th and that was far best all other attempts set me back to 16th or 15th.
Your setup for qualifier series it's absolutely good, i can do a 1.04.5 in hakkone! I have not been able to configure the civic to do your time, in the tourism series your setup allows me to achieve positions from tenth to third, how have you done in that series with the civic and your setup for qualifier?
My five cents. Choose your car and track combination. Ideally the upcoming Gran Turismo 7 event. Set final drive to 4:1 Set first gear to 3:1 Set final drive to 1:1 Spread the other gears so it looks nice. Drive the car for a couple of laps. Note problems you notice. Revving out in top gear, for example. Move final drive to improve top speed. Move first drive so you can use it effectively when lapping. If you tune for best standing start you might enjoy drag racing. Spread the other gears so it looks nice. Do some more laps. Fine tune. Now is the time to look more closely at the middle gears. Look for good gear/corner combinations. More laps. Fine tune. And repeat. Thank you, Harmonic. Your intro into gearing is good stuff. I'd like to hear your thoughts on Brakes.
Does the camera angle you use matter I notice most controller videos I see people use like 3rd person view and people with a wheel use pov camera. I’m new to the game so this may be a dumb question.
I need to mention that the first gear can be a lot longer and closer to the second gear. If the engine can overpower the tyres then there is little point in having more torque form the shorter gears. Idk how the GT7 meta is yet, but the final drive should enable you to bring the gears closer together or wider while keeping the start of the rpm more comfortable for the engine. I still play Forza Motorsport 4 most of the time, because I just enjoy tuning the cars over there. So much info, but alas there are unrealistic settings that cheat the physics engine.
I was so frustrated with my Camaro ‘16 today, it keeps understeering in Deep forest ring, and that long straight with hair pin, my brakes just left the track so i end up either overshoot or wide slow sliding turn. Now I am here, relearning 😂
Thanks for the tier list! You helped choose a proper GT car. Do you have any plans to make similar tier list for other classes? I would like to hear your opinion on Forza P1, because I chose Porsche 919 and it feels kinda OP even with omologaton, but maybe AI is too slow.
Also a good reminder, I was struggling with tuning my '89 m3 and was having rubbing and stiffness issues that I couldn't fully trouble-shoot around watkins glen. Changing back to the stock suspension for that event wasnt a deal-breaker and made the car so much nicer to drive. It allowed for more PP wiggle room to increase power too. Reverting to stock for a single race, or car that you're struggling to tune that you wont be maining, isnt the end of the world and now that m3 is my favourite 600pp go-to
sir im sorry for commenting that other rude comment on ur previous video. i was expecting these videos to teach stuff that they're not really "supposed to". after i first watched it i started reading serious books like RCVD and Tune to win, and now i've come back to these videos, just out of curiosity and because they're enjoyable to watch, and I can appreciate them fully. these videos aren't "perfect", but they are leagues above, and possibly the best out of other similar of videos for tuning in games. the information is explained clearly with nice pacing, and the demos are incredibly helpful. thank you for uploading these, and once again sorry for the old mean comment which i've deleted btw. have a good day
5:24 Do note that the torque numbers don't tell the whole story. You need to consider the actual ratios as well. It might be the case in lower gears (1 or 2) where you get so much torque multiplication from the gearbox that even at redline with the power dropping off sharply, you're still making more torque than the higher gear. If you try to adjust your ratio to suit the torque numbers you'll change its RPM when shifting so you need to set the value right.
That's the entire point of the video... You set your gears so you're at peak power as often as possible. You're going to have more wheel torque in a lower gear, but if you spend more time in the region with power loss, you're losing acceleration. If your car has a power band like this and you find it fastest to shift at redline, your gears need to be adjusted
Any plans on making a updated forza gt tier list vid? I feel like now would be a great time since we're only getting 1 new gt car this month, which is the RCF gt3. So you won't feel overwhelmed with the amount of new cars entering the division.
Bruh this game is ded, better spend your time in something else like all the pros did already lol there are no events, no official tournaments, nothing... 7 months later and the game is still a broken mess with no matchmaking and a joke of penalty system.
Imo, handbrake will not lead to consistent lap times & it's not available on gr4 cars & above in daily races. Keeping brake balance at the rear will force more rotation & help you turn better. Also if you're using handbrake, keeping the sensitivity to 66 will be helpful. ✌️
Every top controller player uses the handbrake whenever it's allowed. It's faster and easily consistent with minimal practice. It has since been removed from Sport mode since this video was released
