I got rev bases with Merlin figures made from him, top quality! There’s a good reason he is one of the top players in the US, and any hate towards 3D printing subbuteo is sadly because you dint think of it first. Yes, plastic goals are a cheaper alternative to 80$ extreme work goals that could turn off new players into getting into the game. I’ve been away from the game 15 years, and I’m glad to see advancements, cheers
Thanks for another interesting vid Paul. Just wondering what type or types of substances could be used for varnishing. I suppose the question is, what kind of varnish is inside that bottle?
Naw, certainly close enough to have been reasonably called a foul. On film my guy might have barely stopped before the shot came in, but certainly wasn’t that obvious!
Some brilliant shooting on display here, YEESH. Didn't realize that 4th shot went upper 90 NEAR post and in off the BACK post. Literally a perfect shot.
Very interesting video. Just wondering how compatible Hasbro figures would be with other bases. I've got a set of figures but no bases and I'm wondering if I could use them with non-Hasbro bases.
@@subbuteoman Thanks for the swift reply Paul. Just renewing a recreational interest in the game having played in the 70s. Actually had the World Cup 1970 edition with Brazil, Italy and England teams. Just picked up a Euro 96 box set second-hand but blue bases missing🥲. Very impressed by how well you and others in your videos play. Great vids and very instructive.
Is it legal to hover your goalie in the air like that? Your custom goal box is allowing you to do so. Also the original game goalie bars are flat, so your technique would be much harder to implement. If this is all OK by rules, one could make goalie bar even wider/taller and goalie figure twice as large? Unfortunately Subbuteo website provides no answers and their rules are too abbreviated. My suggestion is no hovering, ball should be intercepted by goalie figure alone. Bar connecting to goalie should be as minimal as possible and touching the ground unless goalie is "jumping" - no hovering while anticipating a shot. I know this is now 15 years old video, but if anyone out there knows up to date resources or wants to discuss this, PM me. Cheers!
Brings me back memories back in mid to late 80s-early 90s. This was the way of "gaming" back then before the era of game consoles. I must say this was brilliant back then. I used to had 200 teams, plus the fence, scoreboard, etc. Watching this video, i notice that the rules are almost the same like back then. There are some slight changes, but overall things haven't changed that much. Very nice video!!
@@craigthompson8742 the "how to play " is a series. Many things Subbuteo, equipment and how to play. The link you want would be How to play : goalkeeping. As the title suggest this is about the act of goalkeeping itself.
I thought at least 1 defender needed to be in the defensive area in order for a forward to be offside, in your example none of the defenders are so there can be no offside....thanks though, sorry if i am wrong.
Yes I wanna learn so bad everything on it. Me and my girl love soccer and soccer games as well as she plays club and school soccer so it’s a cool way for us. We both are so competitive. Thank you for this awesome video.
so if attacking the ball cannot hit an opponent or they become the attackers. defenders can't flick and hit the ball. fair enough. but what if attacher flicks a player, the ball is moving, a defender flicks their player, they have stopped, but the ball then hits them - what happened then?
if a defender flicks and the figure is stationary after flicking - and the ball hits the defender - it is a change of possession. Key is the defensive figure must be stopped and the ball rolls onto it. If the defensive figure is moving and the ball hits it. It is a foul to offense, or offense can play on, their choice.
Talon, good to start playing modern game, good stability, and ability to chip when close to the ball. 3dRev very good shooting range and stability. G2 similar in those characteristics to 3dRev. I think 3dRev has better close control. Just my opinion.
