Do you know what the word "SCAM" actually means? It's buying something and getting something else, or not at all. Shitty thumbnail. Didn't watch a second of this video.
Cheers & oh boi I know that feeling. I’m guilty of being a hobby butterfly at times 😅 Loads of nice Bretonnian minis I want to try paint up down the line.
It's a hell of a bad deal, compared to 3 years ago and I won't get started what we should be paying around 2010 prices. It's the same old price gouge play, every year x2 increase in inflation cost regardless if there is a rise of inflation because people keep swallowing the price hikes and getting way less every time. Bare sprues, just the minimum with no rule of cool options, no extra weapon load outs, hyper detail mono junk, and you still are short packed so you have to purchase 1 or 2 more boxes just to field something semi viable. If you are buying GW you're doing it wrong, you need to grab yourself a printer and start printing. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
You cover a lot of truths in your statement so fair play 👏 Especially agree with lack of customisation with minis & spare bits. I will get a 3D printer one day just not yet unfortunately. I do look forward to making Brrrr sounds one day 😅
I was kinda underwhelmed by another canoness. I’d like some crusaders / militia who follow & worship the SOB into battle etc. It ticks that narrative/story telling aspect of the hobby that I enjoy.
@@AlexAttemptsTabletop I just want a canoness who doesn't have fewer decorations than some of the units she can join. Aren't characters meant to stand out?
While I'm salty about how prices keep rising, I'd be lying if I said this new combat patrol isn't basically exactly what I was looking to add to my Genestealer army anyways. Still, I can't wait until I have an area where I can put a resin printer.
I am in the same situation. I can see myself getting a 3D printer down the line just not yet unfortunately. I do feel the new G-Cult CP is quite uninspiring imo.
The thing that makes me angry about this is that GW can't seem to grow on their own merits. All they can do is raise the price. Then the hobby shrinks, but they want to grow more, so they raise prices again. It seems like a death spiral to me, and it's all because GW failed to expand naturally.
A very good point of view & one I can get onboard with. Unfortunately shareholders want more £€$ quickly 🤷🏻♂️ Naturally letting something grow in the long run is more sustainable as an ongoing goal. The talk of burnout spiral is a fair observation to make… that could potentially happen at some point.
"A big villain draw" is the stupidest phrase I have read in the past year. What on earth did the person who wrote that even think it means? It's nonsense.
Rumours/Leaks are mostly just incoherent whispers. Statements like that just add to it. Gives people space to speculate / attempt to interpret it etc I guess. I get what you mean though.
Yeah a good point. Sometimes a ‘bigger’ box may appear good due to extra minis but like you mentioned if it doesn’t appeal to you overall… don’t buy it.
With the new Necro Nid minis alongside G-Cult will work nicely with it. The new Necro hybrid scum/grunts look really nice. Would fit in perfectly with a G-Cult army.
Value wise, especially for a hoard army, the new CP is pretty bad and doesn't offer much. But I say it makes up for it a bit by having a identity and at least this one the Character can Squad up with a unit in the box.
Yeah the new CP has that identity/vibe like you mentioned & having a character being able to lead a unit in a box is useful. That all said… as you mentioned for a hoard army it isn’t particularly ‘good’.
I feel like the new combat patrol was designed for existing players but the old one is just so much better for new players, no clue how they’re supposed to afford this army now
When I seen that reveal on the live stream I'm like the Battleforce Box is just the Reskined old combat patrol, and the combat patrol box is kinda like you had 2 box's of the old combat patrol and it had some stuff you might have needed then yeah whatever. But I was like Jesus they just murdered the good Old combat patrol for something that won't even give you a starter army. Secondly the new Sister's Stuff someone pointed out was just the year prior's Boarding patrol.
Yeah the older combat patrol came to around 500/600 pts (citation needed) but the newer one is just around 300/400 pts. Paying more for less value / less of a starter for an army is a feel bad imo. Yeah I saw somewhere that the sister box was a reskin of a boarding patrol.
I like your middle of the road approach to the subject, a lot of people go too negative or go too positive: "This is the end of the hobby!" or "Oh gee! Games Workshop loves us and truly values us!", none of that is present here, it feels like there's more emotions than just "GW BAD" or "GW GOOD", leaves the viewer with some things to think about after watching this.
Thank you for the kind words. It’s greatly appreciated. I do always try to have a fair approach. I like the idea as an open discussion where people can make their minds up for themselves. I’m just the guy talking loudly in the corner asking what does everyone think about (insert topic) etc.
@@AlexAttemptsTabletop That's a very humble view, give yourself a bit more credit though, your fair approach is very well appreciated and well written compared to more vulgar and less reasonable figures.
While I love some AoS, Blood Bowl and Necromunda minis, I paint about as much Frostgrave/Stargrave, Wargames Atlantic and Warlord minis. There are lots of options outside of GW, even if you don't like printing.
I've already been saying since there's hardly any new warhammer fantasy books, the community controls the lore, we've already taken it from them. Star wars is proof that corporations should not control what is "canon"
I’m intrigued to see how WHF/OW progress book-story wise. I was never around for WHF but been happy to see the buzz the community has created-maintained for it. Star Wars be Star Wars… I’ve liked ‘some’ of the new stuff but unfortunately corporations will happily disregard anything what made it for a quick buck. Imo of course 🤷🏻♂️ Thanks for stopping on by 😌
My first book was Horus Rising. Dan Abnett has done many good books & has contributed so much towards the setting. It wouldn’t be the same without him.
I used for the base - Stirland Mud Citadel Technical texture paint, a wash of Agrax Earthshade, a drybrush of Terminatus Stone. For the puddles I used - moot green then Nurgle's rot technical paint. The tufts are Mordoan Corpsegrass from citadel. Hope this helps :)
@@AlexAttemptsTabletop Damn, that's much more complex than what appeared on the video but i'll do try this method on an empty socle. Is it something you came up by yourself or did you find it somewhere ? if yes, is there a guide or something ?
The use of exactly 1 tuft per base is kind of jarring, especially with those bright colors, I recommend a more random placement and amount for a more natural look
Then they must hate reaaaaaly much. Spent lots of money in the last year, but got an amazing quantity of firstborn marines. Btw Greed stuff world paint stripper is absolutely amazing
@@AlexAttemptsTabletop Building an 1st/2nd edition Blood Angels army. I got some pretty cool old stuff such as a Medic, a Chaplain, some marines, a Predator and coupe of Rhinos from Rogue trader era along with lots of 2nd edition miniatures. So cool stuff.
I find it funny how people who rage against 3d printing or recasting seeing it as "stealing" and not giving GW money, seem to be fine with people buying models second hand off ebay.
Yeah, people should just let people be with however they choose to spend their money imo. Be it 3D printing, eBay, buying directly from GW it’s each to their own.
Wait for them to "retire" all Orcs and Goblins to Old World - aka Old Age of Sigmar Nicle and Dime these people who buy cards and plastic Sculptors-painters-writers all should be credited - so we were able to see who does HIS job good and who just slacking doing shitty stuf.
