Ruger is a Series 70 Trigger without the block. Kimber is a Series 80. So in the trigger department the Ruger will win especially if work is done. The Kimber has a Bull barrel which will reduce recoil due to weight. Ruger makes a Target version with a bull barrel instead of the bushing system.

I have owned a full-size Kimber Stainless II and full-size Ruger SR1911 for many years. In fact, both were purchased on the same day. Of the two guns being compared, the Kimber comes in first and the Ruger somewhere around fifth place. The Ruger is actually my wife's and she prefers it over and above all of our 1911s. So really, comparisons are mostly about opinions and what a particular person likes.

I wouldnt trade my ruger for any other 1911 except a colt. Nevet had any issues with it and its crazy accurate. And reliable. Best on the market ? Probably not but im serious happy with it

There is a way to combat that rub with the selector swich, I'll run it past him for the next time yall shoot. Mind you I have the airsoft version so I'm not sure about the real fire stuff yet. I informed him that the Evo is very user friendly like the charging handle can be placed on the opposite side for left handed shooters so he will be doing that soon. I run the airsoft Evo at airsoft events and have a fake version of the eotech that I use on it and I also ran iron to small red dot the problem I faced with that was the amount of head movement that I came into with the eotech it sat perfect with where my head placement was that's why I recommended that to him. Over all nice grouping keep it up.
