Steve you have the best voice and Journey will never be the same without you. Ummm Neal Schon blocked me when I commented that Arnel was out of tune while he was struggling to sing Wheel in the sky in their recent concert
Unbelievably talented musicians, artists and lyricists, all of you guys but… I have to admit that every time I hear Steve Perry sing “I just want to hold you..”, even to this very day, I’d take a flight from the East Coast to the West just to be in his arms! His eyes say that he has that need to be held, loved, comforted and to feel safe! I need nothing more, nor would he! I’ve lived the solitary life for over a decade by choice but just to be in his arms, depending upon his wishes, would be my greatest wish…or to simply whisper gentle, loving words for countless hours. Who knows, I’m an accomplished acoustic pianist, 60 years beginning at age 5, to accompany him, privately, of course. @StevePerryMusic someone on the other side of our Nation is always thinking of you, always has, wishes and dreams of just one moment. “Maybe this year”! It’s always possible. I know my life would be complete!
Absolutely forgot about this band. I absolutely love this band- I was looking up Neil and this popped up. What the hell is wrong with me? I used to listen to this album all the time. And I realized it’s on vinyl. It’s in my digital library now. Absolutely amazing work. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Sorry ... but Journey did not become a great band until Steve Perry was hired by Herbie Herbert as their lead vocalist. Steve has a raw & special talent that made Journey a #1 band. I am sure that many other fans would agree !!!😊😊 . .
A complex number like this is the reason early Journey needed to have a rhythm guitarist. For the more simplistic songs they would do after 1977, it was easy for Neal Schon to handle both lead and rhythm duties--but you certainly couldn't pull off a jam as good as this one without both guitars going and make it sound good. George Tickner's presence was very much necessary early on, so Neal could have someone hold down the riff whilst he goes off into "wild blue yonder" with a face melting solo. And also---Aynsley Dunbar to compliment Neal on excursions like that, much as Mitch Mitchell was the perfect drummer to compliment Jimi Hendrix
its amazing how many people that I thought "knew" rock have never heard of this amazing band. I wore this out on cassette and even the VHS tape of it. Now it's preserved as a digital file that I have in different locations. Long Live ROCK!! This is some material I'd like to hear Sammy do live with his current band. It wouldn't bother me if he broke some of it out on the "Best of all Worlds" tour.
Man I love that instantly recognizable tone of Neal's playing! So f'ing good! Neal and Rik Emmett are my Guitar God's! This and those first three Journey albums are pure ecstasy to me! I still remember being in my room in southern Indiana and their version of Whiter Shade of Pale came on the Radio, and I instantly knew I was buying this album. I was already a Hagar and Journey fan, especially those fantastic first three albums, so I was sure the whole album would be killer...I was right!
I don't care what mood I'm in the movie always makes me laugh. And that's bittersweet coming from me because me and my dad loved watching this movie and this only makes me think of him more now that he's gone. I didn't even get why he found it funny at the time, I was only interested in the gopher scenes as a kid lol
I was there. Journey was late and loud. It was so noisy you couldn't hear. And the performance was so so. Santana had j6st finished playing a terrific show, and then Joyrney came on and did not impress me. I was never a big fan anyway. We left before Joyrney finished. It was just uninspiring. Alk of us felt that way. I know there are a lit of Journey fans out there. You are free to live Journey if you want, you'll get no argument from me. I am just telling my truth as I remember it. 😊✌🏻☮️🇺🇸
Finally don't stop believin' get a break ,they have a lot of songs ,can somebody make popular a rock song like Homemade love ,Line Of Fire,la do da ,but the problem Is that songs are not popular 🤔
I agree with Neal about "Mother Father"... I consider it a true masterpiece on every level... the lyrics, Steve's vocals, the musicianship by every member of the band. Amazing!!
