I started this track the night after "late night stargazing". In the original cut of "blue.", I made this track the follow up to "late night stargazing", due to the simple fact that they were made one day apart. Once I started working on this project, I kept that sequence. Although this track is titled "ethereal waterfall" due to the atmospheric and ethereal vibes, I liked to refer to it as Cerulean Spaceship 2 due to the Deja Vu feeling I had from working on this track. I made "Cerulean Spaceship" in December of 2022 and revamped it heavily once I started working on "ISONIGHTS", which took place in April and May of 2023. Coincidentally, I also started Ethereal Waterfall in December of 2023 and revamped it in May of 2024 with the help of an engineer that my close producer peers have worked with. "Cerulean Spaceship" was another one of those tracks from ISONIGHTS which was heavily mentioned alongside "Life Is A Highway". Even I knew that it was going to be special before the release of ISONIGHTS. I immediately felt the pressure to outdo myself, but with this track I feel as if I accomplished exactly that.
As I've been working on this project, I realized how much it was inspired by my own past work. It truly felt like a cumulative project that sums up everything I've done in the past 2 years. This inspired me to make a complex instrumental that feels like all my past projects in one. I specifically arranged this project to start off with more grounded tracks and dramatically escalate towards the end. Out of all of my projects, this is the one that means the most to me. I wanted to make something that feels like my life and what I was going through at the time. I am beyond grateful for every single one of you. Forever Iso
I'm accustomed to making atmospheric instrumentals with unusually slow tempos when working on personal projects, but I wanted to grow past that. To accomplish this, I put a bunch of epic strings and pads together along with the most fast paced drums of this whole project. For once, instead of having something that feels like I'm floating in space, I came up with something that feels like the speed of light. To be completely honest, I planned for this to be another drumless cut. I was unsure what drums to lay out and was afraid it may not work, but it did. Everything turned out for the better.
I started working on this track while on a family vacation last summer. I knew this track would be perfect for the summer and it takes me back to when people around me started to find out that I make music so I figured it would fit perfectly on this project.
The original version of "Moonlight" from ISONIGHTS had slow drums in the background before I decided to go full on piano melody. I had to wonder how this track would have turned out had I kept the drums. Towards the end of last year I came up with the whole melody in one night. When it got to the drums, I remembered that thought about the original version of Moonlight and layed out a similar pattern of drums, and everything fell into place. This track came about while working on "blue." Since it was far different from the energy and sound of that project, I cut it out which was the perfect move as this was the one track that inspired the concept of "ME. MYSELF. ISOLATION." At the time I knew I had a beautiful grail on my hands. Little did I know what was to come the next day...
"GLITCH TEXT" is based on the ongoing miscommunications I've had with someone I used to know, which led to many ups and downs in our relationship only to ultimately come to an end. The continuous on and offs led up to not one, not two, but three iterations of a "GLITCH TEXT" beat. Not everything works, but it's okay because if everything worked out I wouldn't be where I am now. I wouldn't trade music for the world.
Days after the release of "ISONIGHTS", every single person who told me their thoughts on the project claimed that "Life Is A Highway" was one of their favourites. At the last minute, I swapped out one of the tracks on this project and put this one in to give everyone something familiar. Although the idea behind this project was to invoke peace and comfort even in loneliness, I didn't want to make this whole project about myself either. It's important to make music for the people as much as it is for myself.
I've been told that my strong point in music is my atmospheric and ethereal melodies. However, in the process of working on this album, I focused on developing my drums further. I uncovered an unfinished beat from June of 2023, which is shortly after the release of my first project, ISONIGHTS. I redid the drums to have a slight breakcore vibe to it. After finishing this track, listening to it gave me a feeling of nostalgia from the vibes of "Indigo Fireflies", the introduction track to ISONIGHTS. It sounds different, but feels similar. A weird feeling I can't describe, but not everything is supposed to make sense.
Earlier this summer, I was skateboarding in an area far from home and came across a forest with unusually tall trees which piqued my interest. At this point I already figured out the name for this project and I haven't seen anyone in weeks. After a couple of days pass, I finished the first draft of this project with a complete sequence of named instrumentals as well as unnamed, and made a proper visit to these woods with my close friends. The experience was like no other. By then, the idea of the name of this track hit me. I knew I wanted the cover art of the project taken here. It perfectly fit the title and theme of the project.
This track was intended for "blue." I originally wanted "blue." to be divided into 4 legs of 3-4 songs based on different times and places. A lot of tracks were cut once I decided to focus on electronic and virtual music. I remastered this track from it's original name "Seafoam Mist" and renamed it to what it is now. Typically, I don't care for having a consistent sound in my projects which is obvious in my first project ISONIGHTS, but for "blue." I knew I wanted to focus on electronic sounds, for old times sake. "ME. MYSELF. ISOLATION." isn't based around a specific sound in the slightest but moreso the feel to it, which is solitary music. This is the first project I made that truly lived up to my name.
Before the release of my project titled ISONIGHTS, I began planning the follow up project to start a saga of "ISO" albums. It was supposed to be called ISOSTARS or something of that nature. The final track of ISONIGHTS is called Cerulean Spaceship which is why I originally wanted ISOSTARS to feel like a trip in outerspace, and Cerulean Spaceship is like the journey towards it. This track was the original introduction track for ISOSTARS and was originally named "BLASTOFF". The album got scrapped after I started working on "before you go...". Despite all that, the end result is the same. New sequel project, different name, different concept, same introduction.
Subnautica should hire this guy. Seriously, the music is just so amazing. It's chill and relaxing, and somehow gives me subnautica vibes. I love it! Great job!
