I do apologize if I am leaving a random comment here but figured I’d start somewhere. Looking to upgrade my Business Analyst skills on/for Salesforce- Any leads would be appreciated- thank you! 😊
Yes, this is brand new. Definitely watch the video. It is not long. But if you don't have time now, advance to 3:00 you will see it. It is very good. You still have the XML option.
If you are not a partner with Salesforce, you cannot try it yet. It is in closed beta. It will be in open beta soon (maybe within a month). I'd imagine it would come to partner demo/dev orgs then. If you want to try it as Salesforce customer in a prod, dev or sandbox org, you can join the open beta once it is announced as long as you have purchased at least one Einstein product. Salesforce should announce and clarify this all soon.
Yumi - you are the best flow instructor from whom I’ve ever taken a class. I’ve been working in Salesforce for over 13 years. However, I came to flow a bit late. I’d been working at a company that used process builder mostly, and the team wasn’t comfortable moving to flow. So when I moved to another company in 2022, I dove in and crash coursed myself in flow knowing that Salesforce was retiring process builder and workflows. Needless to say, I had lots of catching up to do! I took a variety of courses on Udemy, but most instructors talk too much. I just wanted to dive in, and that’s what you did in your course. You work effortlessly, which has transferred to me now! I just needed clarification on some things, and that’s what you’ve done. My confidence has skyrocketed. Thank you!
I wanted to try these but my environment doesn't suggest generative AI for flow building. Do you know how I can enable this feature? I am using a Generative-AI-enabled trailhead playground.
You cannot at this point. It is in closed pilot/beta phase. But good news, with Summer 24, it is going to be in open beta. The terms should be announced soon.
A couple of things changed since then, you may have to give explicit access to the individual flow on the guest profle. See: help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sf.flow_distribute_security.htm&type=5
@@SalesforceBreak Unfortunately, my scenario doesn't seem to be working. I have a guest as an API user for an managed app. The issue is that when the API updates the status of a order, there should be a flow to email a list of individuals notifying of the change. But since the API user making the change is a guest, the flow doesn't trigger. Also, this is a record triggered flow
Hi @SalesforceBreak, I really enjoyed your video! I also watched your "New Salesforce Flow Features in Summer '24" video. I was wondering if you could demonstrate email token threading in a future video. I'm curious about how it works, whether it applies to all objects, and if it functions similarly to email-to-case. If you could create a video covering these aspects, that would be fantastic!
Somebody asked. I don’t think I will make a video on the URL redirect change. My understanding is that you need to add your sites/URLs here to avoid potential issues. If these are Salesforce URLs you should be OK. help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sf.security_trusted_urls_manage.htm&type=5
I just watched your video and I'm amazed by the new features. I have a question: How can I access these features in my sandbox? I'm unable to see them.
You can get a Summer 24 preview dev org here to play with this: www.salesforce.com/form/signup/prerelease-summer24/ and depending on your data center location and timing a new or refreshed sandbox will give you the new release. Check the release schedule and info posts. I think there is a Trailhead module for this too.
Thanks, this was a great overview! I'm looking forward to having a sortable list view for flows, and being able to debug on a selected record in scheduled flows. I agree that having the API names auto-generate is going to be a pain in the neck, though.
@@SalesforceBreak Gotcha. I will wait for Sandbox refresh. By the way, will you be doing a video on one of the components for Summer '24: End of Redirections for Legacy Salesforce URLs? I have not been able to get the support about this update and I'm nervous about this.
Thank you so much! Was having problems with getting this to run (and troubleshooting was impossible) and it seems it was because I had it in a Create or Update. Switched to Create Only and now I see it work. PHEW! So glad I found your video!
@salesforcebreak Andy - based on this Cautionary Tale of using the Custom Error messages in Flow, do you have any guidance or best practices on how to avoid this issue? Perhaps trying to consolidate any Custom Error messages into a single Flow if used for "validation" purposes? I would appreciate any thoughts you may have on the subject. ~ Thanks!
There are several UI pitfalls with this at the moment. Some are: 1) When you use a custom error message on the back of a record change that can be done via a path component, the message appears on top in red and disappears. You cannot control where and how it appears. 2) The messages appear in sequence. Before save, after save, and validation rules don't show up at the same time. I built many fault paths for a client and connected them to the custom error message element. They said they ended up removing all, because they wanted to see the messages by other automations/code/validations, but they could not when this design was active. I heard a few other complaints but I cannot remember all of them. I think in the future we will be able to do all this inside flow rather than inside validation rules, but we are not there yet. For now, it would be best if you could build all such errors into validations before save flows or after save flows for each object. And refrain from building flow custom error validation triggering on stage changes.
Good info. I had an idea that I'd like to display a red flag if I've decided that a contact should not be called because it is not a viable lead or the client is unfriendly. A short video on how to do this would be great. Thanks!
Merhaba Hocam! Very useful video first of all! I had the similar requirement and tested both VR and Custom Error for required fields validation and with Validation Rule I had a disadvantage as user was not able to return to the previous stage if they change the stage from the path. With custom error I`m not able to hyperlink the field name like it does with VR pop up message. So looks like both options have room for improvement.
When i retrieve this flow from ANT tool and try to deploy in other environment its giving error saying " Error : Invalid element reference <Custom Error Component Name> not found for target.
Hi, I am stuck with a problem while doing an Integration with an External System using Salesforce Record --Triggered Flow that runs Asynchronously. The integration requires me to do multiple POST requests and proceed based on their response. But before the first HTTP Callout finishes the flow moves to the next HTTP callout which needs a value from the response of the previous HTTP call. So it is failing because the value is null as the first one hasn't been completed yet. Please help me with this.
