I had the privilege of hanging backstage for 3 days in Toronto for the Breakfast In America Tour. I was mesmerized by this band back then,, and still there Music blows me away. What a great experience being in the same room with Roger Hodgson tuning his guitar and watching John Helliwell play chess with his brother. I'll never forget it! Thank you Supertramp. Absolutely amazing!
Saw them at the Summit in Houston, circa May 1979. Best concert ever for me, personally. Immaculate performances from each album up through Breakfast in America. What a show!
"Crazy" to me was always about the social decay in society. And questioning whether it is crazy, or is it just your own perception. As the years have passed Its become more blatantly obvious it wasn't me.....
St.Tango! For those who don't know, Tango is an orangeade beverage here in the UK, and pretty much like a Cousin to Fanta! I wonder, do Americans drink Tango over there? If so, let Me know! Oh, and that was just a silly joke I made by the way! 😅😅 Peace! 😊🇺🇸🏴
I mean, Enter Sandman will always be My all-time favourite Metal song! Even though I've had some emotional turmoil towards Lars over the ensuing years, as I still love Metallica period, as The Black Album will forever be My favourite record!!!
lov u big man,,,i saw ever concert u ever played w.in driving distance of lou,my BIG BRO DON put my 2nd wife on WILLIE<MERLE<,,dam we had some super times,,TOGETHER,he`
I wish there was more on the creative process. Who are the songwriters? Who composes the other instrument's music? The instrumentation is so amazing. It's got that classical style, so much going on; changing rhythms, keys, multiple vocals, and the inclusion of horns always makes for so much musicality. And check it out, you can hear the words! Wow!
One of the most talented, innovative bands ever. I wish more young people would discover them. I was too young to ever see them live😢, but they are one of my favorite bands❤
I thought it was obvious the difference in the music Roger wrote and what Rick wrote. I really enjoyed the times they played together and could really jam. For me those were the real hits. Love how the others supported the band. The group took it to the highest level they could.
He was a monster of a man til almost 1980...something happened that shot his voice and his body/looks...that part is according to women I know. We were going through albums and they said he starter looking rough and I noticed his voice was changing around 1980ish too
Merle Haggard pure country❤music Storyteller Rider he had a hard life and look how he turned it around God🙌🕊✨️💯❤️ was truly with him I believe that🙏 I always have love ❤Merle Haggard one he was so talented a God given gift of a voice songwriter😊 Also listening when my sister and myself were little girls my Daddy and Mamma always loved to listen to Merle Haggard I'm in no way bragging but I still have his Merle Haggard album's in the original jacke in mint condition in the jacket. I'm not bragging about it at all I just am so happy that my Daddy who is in Heaven with my Sister now with God Almighty and my Mamma who I still have left me that even his first one Mama Tried😊 Shame on those who mismanaged him you are the one who should he should have been sued but Merle Haggard being a good man probably would not have sued you! I'm so happy he is in the Country Music Hall of Fame if anybody deserved it he did deserve that honor😊 We will make mistakes but I think deep down he was a very good man. Who are we to judge anyone that is God Almighty's right and I think that he is in ❤ HEAVEN ❤ today😊 Our loss✨️ Heaven's🕊 gain❤❤❤🕊🙌✨️🙏❤️💯🕊✨️🙏❤️
*But I don't understand the title of the video... This is NOT a "documentary" on the story of Supertramp "so far" per se, this is a concert video for God sakes !*
I followed Supertramp from their very first concert at the High School of Commerce Auditorium in Ottawa, Canada. Saw every concert in Ottawa and Montreal, QC. A British friend of mine had turned me on to Crime of the Century. Then purchased the self titled album and Indelibly Stamped. I have everything the band ever released. It's unfortunate that Canada receives such shant attention to the success of the band. They were more popular here than they were in the USA. They only became popular there with the release of Breakfast in America. Shame on you Roger and Rick. We helped to make the band the success that it was. Apparently you have forgotten or overlooked this. Patrick Sicard
The thing about Merle and The Strangers, is that Merle always made sure to recognise the band members and back up singers and he always made sure to let them have a solo to showcase their talents.
I saw them in Vancouver on the same tour, August 11/79…last show they did that year in North America. They played outdoors at the end of a near perfect summer day. The show was every bit as goods as the weather.
