I remember hearing a pastor say something similar once. He said everything we have belongs to the Lord. All He asked the people for in the OT was for 10%, the 90% was theirs to use. As I thought about what I heard, I was overwhelmed with God's generosity knowing the very breath in my lungs and the beat of my heart were gifts from Him. He certainly doesn't need our money but what He is looking for is our hearts and if we are desiring to show our gratitude for all He has given to us. I am forever grateful for all He has given to me!
Our children ( your children) are created on purpose for a purpose. In listing these genealogies it's a wonderful reminder that we all are known by God. The choices we make in life whether good or bad are opportunities to either bring God glory or show the poor consequences that result when we try to do things our own way. I am forever grateful for His grace and mercy that when I do fail and ask for forgiveness, He is always faithful to pick me up, wash me and put me back on His path again. What a loving, holy God we have!
I was praying mightily during that Sunday service asking the Lord to multiply as He had done before. He came through with more than enough and more left over than when the bread was placed on the plates. He is able to do exceedingly, abundantly more than we could ask or imagine. All glory to our Great God and Provider! 🙏🏻
As I heard this Scripture again, 2 things struck me. Saul kept saying "the Lord 'YOUR' God" to Samuel not 'his' God and also I wonder if the evil spirit from God was God giving Saul what he wanted not unlike He did when He hardened Pharaoh's heart or in Romans 1 where God gives us over to a depraved mind when all we want to do is have our own way. Just a few of my musings. Sobering non the less! How thankful I am that when I am disobedient and repent, God sees the righteousness of Christ and not my sin. Thank You Jesus!
Joshua 1:9 was my surgery verse 21 years ago. It gave me strength, and courage and filled me with peace as I prepared to battle breast cancer, knowing God was with me. No matter what happened, He was with me. I'm so thankful for His healing.
When I first heard this story of Moses striking the rock, I was sad that his action kept him from going into the Promised Land. To my sinful mind it seemed like such a small thing. Then I heard a teaching about it which brought clarity to God's righteous judgment. It was about typology. Striking the rock pointed to Jesus, The Rock, being struck and paying the penalty for our sins on the cross. That happened Once for All! God asked Moses to Speak to the Rock the second time to point to Jesus being The Word and out of Him comes streams of living waters. It messed up the typology not to mention being disobedient to God's command when Moses struck the Rock instead of speaking to the Rock. I also learned in crying out to God about this not being fair for Moses and me saying if Moses can't do it, how can I possibly make it to the Promised Land? God answered my question immediately. I heard Him say to my heart, you can't. It's only in Me. Stay close to Me, trust Me, and I will bring you home. How thankful I am that when I sin, He is faithful to forgive me when I repent. I long to be more obedient but when I fail, He is right there with His grace and mercy to cleanse me and put me back on track again when I ask Him.
So thankful to be one of Jesus' sheep and praying Raylee will know her Shepherd's voice and follow Him all the days of her life. She is such a precious little Lamb🙏🏻❤️.
"What must I do to earn salvation?" There is nothing I can DO. I am dead in my sins. It's all about what Jesus did. I must put my faith and trust in His finished work on the cross to be saved from the punishment of my sins. It's just that simple and yet also difficult because our sin nature wants to have a say in "doing something" to earn salvation. His amazing grace and loving kindness gives eternal life freely. The only thing required is we must believe and receive!
Praying she will dress modestly as a young woman and when people look at her, they will see her inner beauty matches her outward appearance. Ultimately, that they would see the light of Christ within her.
Just precious ❤ May we all have that child-like faith that longs to be close to our Daddy, Abba Father as Raylee wants to be close to you. Praying that as she grows she will know His voice and follow His leading just as she heard your voice and came to where you were reading. So adorable 🥰
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Our responsibility is to obey Him and enjoy Him forever. That begins by having a deep awe and reverence for Him. What a blessing and privilege to be His own! ❤🙏🏻
God is the perfect parent and yet Adam and Eve disobeyed and sinned. However, we are to do the best job raising our children to know, love and have respect (fear of the Lord) so hopefully when they are grown they will follow Christ and live an abundant life. You are doing that for Raylee.
He desires our hearts and Raylee is learning the importance of saying thank you and giving what she has. Praying one day she will give God her whole heart and life. Sweet illustration.

Great great point. That has never been so important, as now we have the means to listen to people from all over the world in the blink of an eye. So important to focus on the voice that matters most!
Discipline is love. Sometimes you have to love your children enough to let them "hate" you when they think they know best. As parents we definitely make mistakes, but that's when we count on the grace and forgiveness God gives us. And you are right. It's also important to be humble before our children and admit when we have made mistakes. Parenting is the most challenging and rewarding job on the planet. You are doing a wonderful job!
