The Capri brand stopped 40 years ago ! The name means nothing to this generation move on it’s a name that’s not been used it’s 2024. Why are people going on about the old cars ? I had a capri it was terrible and changed it for an escort RS Turbo that was ok ish I’d buy this car the name has been used again but as said the majority don’t really care about the cars 40 plus years ago.
Just test driven a 2010 version of one of these and I have to say it's very nice. surprisingly even the car that had over 100k felt like a few years old. Might end up buying it tomorrow. Just need to make sure there isn't any gremilins hiding in it
@DriveWithAndy, is it a street legal version in UK? Does it have license? I am gonna build like this in Hungary, but the regulation does not allow to get a lisence plate for a modified car like this.
@@T1DsWeLL I did but it was all for nothing. The judging was a shambles. First the day was heavy rain and thunder all morning so I was cleaning the car in that weather. Then judges came out of nowhere, took seconds to look at the cars and chose the most expensive ones on show. I left straight after such a disappointment effort to judge the cars. They didn't look closely at the cars to see the effort put in. Sorry for the rant. May make a video on it as I did start to film then gave up
@@DriveWithAndy yeah I get you mate, I was there but as you say the weather was so bad. I tried to look for you but didn’t hardly get to look at all the cars because the weather being restrictive. What time did you get there and leave ?
@@T1DsWeLL got there around 7:45. That was another thing. The street elite was badly organised, well non at all. No one told us where to go or park, no one came over to talk to us, nothing. We just parked in a line between us not knowing if that was right. Terrible on the organisers. Then left 11:15 after the lack of judging. The winners were honestly not as clean as my and other cars there that stood out in the weather cleaning inside and out. Terrible
@@DriveWithAndy yeah pretty much the same time I got there, I thought It was really poorly organised we were told to go in a direction but there really wanted enough room as we wasn’t allowed to park on the grass because of the rain 😂 so where did you park in the end! Was it in the track area?
@@T1DsWeLL I saw a little sign for street elite, stood there for about 5-10 mins with no staff in sight. Thought maybe I just park next to this car and then a few more did the same. No communication at all. We were parked opposite the event area
not sure on sizing. all i know is i went for Newman Phase 1 cams and pricing for them to be bought and installed i cant really remember as i did the whole mods, fitting and mapping all as one price.
@@DriveWithAndy The car ?I tested it, no. It did not have. But having the car protected with ceramic coating in order for the Fan Blower to behave decently is a big "requirement" wouldn't you say? I mean the blower is like what...100 euros? Ceramic coating applied to your car...let me guess ...500 euros, at least?
@@Chr079 not at all. I use either something like Wetcoat, maybe £12-15 a bottle or a ceramic snow foam and use it about 6 times a year, easy to spray on rinse off and leaves the car with a water repellent finish so when I wash the car the water shoots off with this blower so little towel drying needed. If your into detailing your car then this is a great drying aid
@@DriveWithAndy I used the blower on a freshly washed car that also got some wax treatment. Ok, true that the wax applied was crap but still, the blower did not move any water droplets on the metallic parts. Some results were seen on the windows, but very time inefficient overall. I woul say one needs proper ceramic coating on the car to make this little blower work efficiently.
@DriveWithAndy yes it's seems to have turned into a bit of a scandal by ford. The timing belts run in oil and are failing way before ford's recommend change time. Just make sure your belt has been changed or I would get it changed early as a precaution
@@wevv1965 so ours is a 2018 with 73k miles. Seen Ford state 100k change but owners say to be really safe best do at 80k so feel once we get it on the road and start using it we best get it checked for peace of mind but also keep in mind to get it changed at 80k miles
Hi Andy I've followed your videos for a few years since I had my st 150 track car ,I had a 2017 transit m.sport crew cab I had the intention of converting it to a camper van . I know have a new volkswagan t6.1 204 dsg lwb highline swamper kombi camper van from Van haven. If I could offer you any advice do your interior conversion 1st before modifying your van ,the costs can easily spiral out of control. My best advice is not to scrimp in materials get the best sound deadening the best insulation, the best electrical components and the best diesel heater you can afford. Buy once and buy right do not cheap out on anything. You will at the end of the day have your family in this vehicle over night ,so it needs to be warm dry and most importantly safe .build the best van you possibly can and look at as many vehicle's as possible for the best ideas. I'm the brand ambassador at van haven vans .check out the vans will build they are mostly volkswagan transporters but it will give you some great ideas. Get the conversion done and then think about the flashy stuff later .also replace your wet belt regularly. I look forward to seeing how you get on .all the best shane 👍
