Swedish outdoor brand that has developed compasses and headlamps since 1933. 🌲🧭
THREE ENTREPRENEURIAL BROTHERS. ONE FANTASTIC INVENTION. In 1933, Björn, Alvar and Arvid Kjellström together with Gunnar Tillander invented the first ever liquid-filled compass, and our story began. Not only was it the first compass of its kind, but it also set the global standard for how navigation works upon today. In 1935, we launched our first headlamp Zeiler, and the SILVA brand was born.
Still to this day, we develop products for people who love outdoor activities. With our compasses, headlamps, running vests and packs, you can go anywhere you want, at any time of the day, and in any conditions.

Is there a cable kit, or a conversion cable fron your attachment to usb-c? would it be possible to power the light through an external power bank though a standard connector as usb-c? All in all a nice product. However that hinges on this being possible otherwise I believe It's laking versatility and very restrictive which would be a real bummer. Having to log both a battery bank and the battery up a mountain because of the proprietary connector would be major L. Otherwise great concept
is there a simpler model of the lamp without the extension cable? I dont really want think about not rip it or find an attachment spot for the separate battery
I can't find the laptop compartment on my Silva Orbit 25L. Am I stupid? I was expecting something similar to what the Lap 25L has. Please don't tell me it's just the little pouch on the inside of the main compartment... That pouch barely fits my 15" laptop, and it offers no protection from other things I have to put in my backpack.
Yes, you should if the distance to be traveled is relatively long. Also depends on the declination angle being too large. For example in most of the UK this angle is less than 2 degrees so the influence is relatively very low
Thank you for that good and helpful explanation of the Free 2 series. I'm using the Free 2 Hybrid and I like the long lasting and bright light near and in the distance. I also like the simple use and the red safety light, which is mandatory equipment for many ultra runs.
I got my Silva Spectra O 2 weeks ago and i have tried many headlamps during the years and Silva Spectra is definitely the best headlamp I've ever used and owned by far!! It's so powerful and really turn night into day after a few clicks on the arm remote control 😅 If i should say anything negative i would say that i would like to have a little bit better long distance light and maybe a few more minutes of the battery, but i solved that by buying a second battery and now I've got at least 2 hours! So if you should buy the best headlamp this is the one you should buy, no question about it 💡 I can also say that I'm a former professional runner with a few championship medals and a 5:th place in the European Championships in beginning of 2000 century so i have tried many headlamps during the years! And for me Silva has always been a top quality product for ages and still are! And I don't get paid for writing this 😉 So go to the Silva store and get it now and you will never buy any other brand after that 💥💡

I have used these silva head lamps for about 4 or 5 years. Great product . It is worth while investing more batteries. The small batteries (e.g 2 ah) are useless for any activity over 25mins. With the 3.5 ah batteries you can be good for about 90mins , or more, if you turn down the beam. Highly recommended
Worst case scenario, if you lose the lanyard and screwdriver for adjusting declination, if you carry a SAK wth corkscrew and you have the micro flat driver, it's a little small but it will do the job in a pinch 👍🇦🇺
Nice video! This winter, you should shoot the same video with a modern, stabilised, low-light capable action cam. Thanks for the upload! Dave, Northern Ireland.
Have a question that no one seems to have an enswer for. I'm sitting in Virginia, declination here is 8 degrees west. Planning a trip up Mount Shasta in California, declination maybe 12 east. I want to make a "plan" with travel points with azimuths/bearings in case of low viz or GPS failure. Can I do that? Do I set my declination on my compass for 8W or 12E
Poor cameramen that were supposed to shoot this thinking "how am I going to do this while showing the dynamic range between total darkness and what feels like the sun exploding in one shot?" But they nailed it
So this is all good and well But holding the map with the longitude line correctly orientated in the first place How would I know that to be so Because am I correct in thinking That holding the map in the right or wrong direction determines the right or wrong compass orientation ?
