Searching for the perfect camp spot can be time consuming and frustrating. Been there, done that! We tend use images, maps, aerial shots and reviews online to try to make informed decisions. Often it's a leap of faith because we never really know what we’re going to find....until we get there.
CampByMe is a place where we search and examine camp sites around Australia. We make it easier for you to choose that perfect spot to camp.
Being campers ourselves, our aim is to set out to help you find a spot that meets your camp criteria and really dive deep into the camp location and sites.
You're not wrong about the slope 😂 Do not drink here, or you'll end up at the bottom of a gully. Thanks for the video though, stunning spot. So glad you convinced me to stay here
I’m extremely happy to travel in the Jimny over long distances. It’s a comfortable drive, when you are at the higher speed it can become very sensitive on the road. The new wheels really made a difference. Also with the 40l fuel tank you get around 380 - 400 kilometers so you will need to do regular fuel stops. Overall it’s great as long as no know the limitations and realize it’s a small car with limited space so travel light and smart.
Stayed here last year and it was awesome. The property owners are very welcoming and offer great hospitality. Great hikes into the ranges. You can also rent the old Homestead.
Great video. Takes me back to my childhood when dad landed us there to take shelter from a storm in the sail boat. It’s an awesome spot, loved swimming there. One thing to mention, just about everyone takes a photo looking from the end of the jetty to the lighthouse on the opposite shore at sunset. It’s obligatory. 😊
The National Trust took over control of the site from the local council and have since then failed to maintain the site, the toilet and dump point have been out of use for at least 4 years now. When questioned about the site the National Trust said they haven’t allocated any funds for repairs and maintenance. It used to be perfect until the trust got it.
Thanks for the information, we were wondering when they would fix it! Our episode covered that the toilet and dump point are not in use. We hope they fix it soon, we certainly enjoyed our time there in it’s current state.
Hey, we can’t wait either. We have managed to film 15 campgrounds in WA and very much looking forward to posting them on CampByMe once they are edited!
I feel its a bit rude for those campers to encircle the shelter area basically excluding others from using it. Maybe they would welcome others but I would feel intimidated. But as always a good video
Definitely take that point and it’s a hard one to judge, when we spoke to them they said they were the only ones there at the time but were happy for others to come in and use it. Thanks for the feedback :)
