I got a replacement set of solenoids from eBay and noticed: A. theyre same size (I some other videos where the 'new and improved' versions were smaller). B. No paperwork came with so Im gonna try and copy what YOU did - Just look so find similarities in new to old. I hope that does the trick. Come back later to report my findings. 😊
Damn. Already have an APR ECU + TCU tune ($1800+ CAD) and was going to buy this device just to tune octane up and down at will. It's $129 USD + $69 USD shipping (to Canada) + Sales Tax. Totalling $229 USD = $315 CAD! No thanks! Their shipping cost to the Greater Toronto Area is atrocious lol.
Do you have any info on the stock exhaust piping diameter that goes to the rear muffler and muffler tips? I'm doing a project an I've looked everywhere an can't find anything even with measuring already. Some say 2" or 2.25 or 2.5" or even 2.1" I'm not sure when I measured it looks like 2" I haven't cut it yet to be for sure an I don't want to unless I figure out that diameter so I can go ahead an purchase things, Let me thanks brother
I also have the IE v2 intake but with the lid. I live in Florida where it rains really hard. Yesterday I drove home though a huge storm (mini hurricane). It was so bad that I cousln't see a thing. I got home and checked the IE V2 intake and there was a very little water in the intake. It looks like it drained through the holes like it should. The filter did have some water droplets on it but nothing crazy. the engine and the battery were dry.

first run (stock), in the first second the car was roling, and you didn't quite push the pedal so you lost 1 second, exatcly the second "gained" with the tune box... so does not seem like an improvement to me.
I have an MK3 TTs, same intercooler. My setup is completely different and is very far from Unitronic's instructions, which are basically worthless for my car.

If anyone is watching this trying to fix the overheating issue: There’s an inline thermostat coming from your transmission oil cooler. Find it and throw it in the trash! They all get stuck shut or defective in someway. You’re welcome.
So let’s say I swap from a is12 to a is38 Will this tuner help me make it so it will run right and just alone with the turbo swap will run right without the tune ? or would I need to go to professional tuner to adjust boost and fuel mixtures and all that stuff?
Thanks for posting. Great video and very educational. I do have two questions. I have the manual stick shift Porsche Cayman 718. I have plenty of horse power and torque coming out of the stock engine. My only interest in the at home APR tuner is to turn off the F&^%$ annoying "engine stop/start" button. Based on your experience with the APR tuner, if I purchase the tuner for my Porsche, can I go through all the options and program the tuner so that the only mod it does is to turn off the "engine stop/start button"? My second question is about the TCU tuning. Since I have a stick shift, I don't need to worry about the TCU tuning, correct? Frank
Answer to your second question: Correct - don't need to do TCU. First Question - I don't know the answer to this. I don't believe start stop options are available through UltraLink tuning. I have another video about removing this challenge on a Tiguan. That was done through a small piece of electronic hardware. Check it out.
Wish I found this video a couple of weeks back when I replaced the solenoids on my daughter's '06 Jetta. Anyway, pieced it together from various videos here. Most guys seem to just replace the whole valve body unfortunately, which isn't a bad way to go, just more costly (especially if it's just your solenoids which are bad). And yes, the numbers and the color of the replacements seem to differ but my 2¢ is that the end one with the squared tip was a b!tch to remove and even harder to install (had to "press" that one in there with a large pair of channel locks) and there was also one of the middle ones which didn't have a "50" on the end but instead a symbol. As far as your solenoids not entirely fixing your issue, are you sure you diagnosed it correctly? Bad solenoids in the 09G usually present themselves as working perfectly fine when cold but once things warm up, that's when the hard shifts and late shifts start. Ours would go into limp mode too when this happened (would miss the shift from 3rd-4th). How did your transmission fluod smell when you initially drain it? If it smelled like burnt rubber then your clutches are probably shot.

I had this problem happen to me this week. Smoke started to come out from under my hood. White smoke at that. I looked at may car and checked for an oil leak and it wasn’t that. My cousin said to check for a coolant leak and he was right. I ordered the part. Just waiting for it to arrive. Thanks for your video, now I know how to change it.

I had my apr tune take off my stage 2 so I could pass emissions. so I go to put it back on and they said APR has stage 2 file locked now, Im so pissed! I paid a couple hundred buck to have it removed, now I cant re instll they said only stage 1 now
