The rivers, lakes, and coastal waters of B.C. give anglers more options to catch wide varieties of fish - from steelhead to halibut - than almost anywhere else. There are so many strains of fish and runs of salmon across so many different rivers, it creates more fishing opportunities than most anglers could ever hope to explore. Combined with spectacular scenery and encounters with B.C.’s iconic wildlife, trips here are truly once-in-a-lifetime experiences.
Currently on my buddy's private house boat fishing on the shushwap and we are reading the regs and talking to other locals and can't determine what we are allowed to use. Most lures and what not come with two individual hooks on them. But the regs say can only use a single barbless hook. But others telling us we can use multiple hooks. Trying our best to follow the regs but these single hooks are making it very difficult to even get anything reeled in. Could you give me some advice since you charter these waters
Kerry is a first class guide and operator. He is also very generous with his knowledge and is a very pleasant person. Cant recommended him enough. Good luck out there!
I stayed at this resort on offseason for work to build a water tower for the school there in shearwater. Very remote location, very beautiful. Got to see seals and orcas while there. Very nice place for fishing, would love to go back there to do just that instead of work!
If float tube fishing, its important to anchor up also. Need to keep that line tight to the fly. Also move often if no bites. Also be patient, ive had days where I couldn't get a bite and become frustrated, but then later in the day, a bite window opened up and I caught some really nice ones. Thank you for sharing your knowledge 😊
Just watching your video now and thought I'd comment. I've been in that area a couple times a few years back. A friend of mine that was an RCMP had his last posting there. I worked as a musician for 30 years and always booked myself wherever the fish were running. Loved the area and the fishing . I'm glad I found your video and I thank you for the memories !
Thanks for all that you do for the BC Fishing Community 🙏 I’ve watching your videos for many years; you’ve definitely helped a lot of people improve their approach to the sport.
very nice indeed, but oh.. if only the BC Government put as much care and effort into the preservation of this very limited resource as it does into promoting it, or actually showed any actual interest in the resource.. I may actually believe the shiny postcard they're portraying to the European and US clients.. the truth isn't nearly as pretty.
Great fishing. I'm assuming hatchery fish taste as good as wild. They're not really farmed salmon. I'm guessing the rules are to re,-establish a viable population and soon, hopefully, you'll be able to reasonably keep whatever with regulations that manage by size and number. Still great to see. Fish on.
