Hi there welcome to AdrianJayeOnline. This channel is dedicated to all things "Jaye" A bit of everything that I like to do and sharing the results for you I hope you enjoy the video's. If you like what you see tell others...If you don't tell me
The prerequisites are : A BMW supporting ENET, like the F-series A correctly installed ISTA/D A full psdzdata package An ENET cable A correct power supply (no so cheap) to maintain a decent voltage (ex: 13.5V) during the programming session DO NOT PROGRAM AND KEEP THE CAR RUNNING. A 45A capable power supply is a minimum ! It all depends on your car and the number of modules installed. I strongly suggest having SATA SSD, or even better NVME disk on your laptop to speed up the process.
hmm interesting yes there are, for some reason I thought there were only 3, I would need to look at it, but it should just be easy to get to with a long screwdriver
I have an F11 and ENET cable, I followed this but no luck I downloaded my ISTA from Bimmergeeks and it's 4.39.20, fresh install and nothing shows up on ISTA when I try to complete vehicle identification. How can I troubleshoot?
It's not eazy to TS on text on youtube, you can try the below, if that does not work, come find me on bimmerfest.com. enable ENET programming in ISTA ------------------------------------------------------- A configuration file is located in your `ISTA\TesterGUI\bin\Release` folder : ISTAGUI.exe.config Don't be overwhelmed by this fat XML file, you just have to look for `<appSettings>` and then add or replace a couple of keys : `BMW.Rheingold.ISTAGUI.enableENETprogramming` to "true" `BMW.Rheingold.Programming.ExpertMode` to "true" `BMW.Rheingold.Programming.Enabled` to "true" Alternatively, you can add entries to the Windows registry rather than editing the configuration file : in `HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\BMWGroup\ISPI\Rheingold` you would add the same keys, with the following string value : True
Awesome ! LOL yes bull, its a ball and socket,, the latches are finicky, the easily accessible ones you can use your finger or a long, wide blade screwdriver, the hard part is putting them back on. You have to do them by hand, and try and press them on, not a lot of room. I think there is a tool which does that.. should do a video on that!

Adrian - all of the video is fine, but missing the most critical part: setting the COM port in the PC (the ISTA part is easy). The ethernet has to connect to COM1 and my laptop did not automatically "see" the ethernet connection - which under the IPV4 properties MUST BE SET to 169.254.1.1 and subnet mask of 255.255.0.0; so I have tried to create a "soft" COM1 part, but I still cannot complete identification on the Operations tab w/o getting the check cable or PAD error message. Ideas? Thanks!
HI Allan, thanks for the comments, I did not need to do anything, i.e. set any com port up, I simply plugged in the cable into my Ethernet port, exactly has shown, it detected the ethernet port and ISTA assigned 169.254.1.1 as you can see at timestamp @3.17 I have heard of the PAD error message, it's usually an issue with ista, where did you get it and what version ? There isnt enough room or ability on this channel to diagnose, I would suggest joining bimmerfest forum, where you can share screengrabs and we can have a proper conversation on line.
ty for the video. what if it ask for an IP ADDRESS what do we use?... also wen I try to anter the VIN manually it keeps saying vin is not valid and or not assigned... trying to use it on an F30
NP, no the VIN is not your IP address, if you follow exactly how I do it, your ista should detect your cable and connection and connection to the car, look at timestamp @3:17 if it diesnt, it "usually" is 169.254.11.8 / in my case, another person said it was 169.254.1.1 with a subnet mask of 255.255.0.0
@@AdrianJayeOnline I gave up on that version of ista. trying to download an older version. I could not get the version I had to run. and what I meant was when I try to enter the vin manually into ista, even that wouldnt work, not use the vin as the IP. appreciate the info. if I have any issues with this version will definetly be asking some question.
Hi Adrian, nice video, much appreciated on the info, just one question with ISTA where will I find the power windows module for 1 touch press as my passenger window is not going up automatically like all the others I have a BMW F36 GC and if you know it would be a once step instead of hunting for it. Any information would be appreciated, thanks.
Hey txs ! for sure, the FEM controls the front windows the the REM controls the rear ones. The actual module is located in the A-Pillar, front passenger side. If thats bust , a new one needs to be coded with a VIN
Hi Adrian thx for the info I've checked the buttons and both work well the error I get is 030095 I've tried googleing it but can't find what it means if I use ISTA to find the issue will it remove the performance modes I have ?
If you'd like to support the channel, please consider giving me a super thanks, buy me a coffee or more :) All super fans will be recognized ! You'll get your name pinned, posted in the next video and also get a shout out... wanna request a video... super thanks me ! :)
Guy's I've got a giveaway, if you wanna win one of these cables, goto my link below, if your unlucky you can still buy one, with a discount, the promo-code is on the channel ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Yk5x6S2QP3U.html
hi there, the cable "itself" doesn't do anything, except interface with a program which will do that, you would need either Ista, Esys bimmerlink (or bimmercode)
thanks for watching and commenting, not a very good description, not sure how I can help, this video has helped a lot of people please see the comments
You are correct, you should not loosen things with torque wrenches. The reason they are reversible is so that you can torque left-hand threaded fasteners.
I have Ista+ from Emanuels online. I can get the car to recognize following your steps. but I can not get past the part where it wants to populat. Do I not have a full version? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
18 330ix. Following your steps, I can select my car. I noticed the color circle is white. my car is blue. It starts to run. and just runs until it quits. it takes a while to quit. I can take a picture of the error message. I'll run it again. i found another version but couldn't get past the license and key. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. I'm willing to get this to work, so if you need something from me, lmk
@@lwjaa hey there, ok txs, so, when your at the bit you select your car, when you click that, (or select it really) the whole bar is selected, (from the video) go to the bottom make sure STANDARD ICOM is selected (with an X) then click set up connection... what this is doing is creating a IP address to connect to the car... Imagine your home laptop, when you connect to your wifi, you select the wifi and hit connect :) NOW.... at this point it should only take a minute, if it isnt that means that ISTA (laptop) can't connect to the car (WIFI) so that can be a number of things 1> faulty cable 2> Incorrectly configured software 3> Issue with the car... all of the above are over the pervue of a simple reply on youtube, recheck and if still a problem, I'm on bimmerfest, please post there and we can see if we can help further, HTH Adrian
TBH I'm not sure, I've never done that, but I believe an ENET cable will work, as the ISTA software is the same, give it a try, wont hurt nothing and then respond back here
thanks but this isn't a how to it's a product review, in fact a how to will take about 30 seconds or less, this is a full on product review so is longer
my pre LCI (2016) just starting giving me issues on the left side, first a warning about indicator bulb then when I arrived home a warning about reverse light
almost certainly 1 of 2 things,. Bad ground, google up ground replace wire bmw rear light unit, there is a retrofit kit, 2, open it up and check the connector for damage, or replace the whole light assembly, let us now how it goes
Hoping the below information helps thanks for the view and positivity ! ISTA+ (AKA Rheingold or ISTA-D) 1. DIAGNOSTICS for All Vehicles 2. PROGRAMMING for F/I/G/RR & MINI, but requires an ICOM • ISTA-P 1. PROGRAMMING traditionally for all chassis, but F-/I-/G-series phased out with 3.63.5 release (March 2018). 2. ICOM Recommended. An ICOM emulator with K+DCAN or ENET can be used, but will NOT communicate over all protocols to program every ECU. 3. Replacement ECU's must be NEW
Hey Neil, I can't remember now, I usually keep bills for a while, but I binned them just recently, I would ballpark about $200, there was a big kerfuffle with customs, from the website, the jack was about $54, (but that's USD) and tax I think about $40-50 transport and say 40-50 US excise, TBH I don't really remember now, The coms with the company is very good, so they will tell you how much the shipping is. For a $54 jack it was expensive, but considering BMW don't do anything official in Canada, and other similar jack/kits are about 200-300. hope that helps, sorry I couldn't be more specific. I usually put prices in things I buy on line.
Hey Neil, I came across my original invoice, here is the info (I'll also pin this) cost $54.99, shipping $70.86 (fed-ex ground), Fedex charged me $42.74 customs, hope this helps (and yes all the shipping & costs, cost more than the dang item !) $113.60 vs 54.99 / grand total $168.59
Thanks for the video. Too bad these types of scissor jack that fit the BMW pads arent so common. I'd trust this over a regular scissor jack + puck adapter.
Thanks for the video mate. I’m facing a problem trying to connect ista to my f22 via obd. My enet to obd cable is def working I’m getting the error: “The vehicle could not be identified successfully. Check vehicle interface and PAD active”. I’m not sure what to do as all the advices I could find do not work
ahh, yes... hmmm, I had that, do you know what version of ista your using, I can't remember where it is, if your stuck let me know, it could be you have an older version of ista, that happened to me I had to update mine, but let me know your version, I@ll check mine, it's on another laptop I "think" mine is 4.29
txs for viewing and the comments, I've never let anything other than BMW oil touch my car, it is made by Castrol which is a 125 year old company, founded in 1899. So that suits me fine. It's also not who or what is the best, it is what is recommended BY BMW, in event of a warranty issue, they will ask for receipts, so do at your own risk
HI there txs for viewing my video, so I actually traded-in my car, I'm now running a 2 series, I suspect it was the handle, but did not want to fork out $400 from BMW, the only source, HTH
Question: Does it work on all apps, like Roku for instance? As long as the TV is not a Roku Smart TV, just an HDMI plugin. This seems crucial to know for myself and others hoping to use Keyboard/Mouse to navigate through Roku and its Apps.
Though I dont know, I'm assuming a ROKU streaming TV is no different from my TCL TV which uses Google, as long as the TV has a USB port, it should work, the "software" for the streaming should have nothing to do with the HARDWARE of the TV, think like this, Apple MAC and WINDOWS, both have USB and will work
HI Liz, I only use OEM parts on the car, in this occasion for the video, the filter looked good so I just banged it out, I recently replaced it, for an OEM one from the dealer.
