UAVOS Inc. is built on a philosophy of onward motion and robust solutions during the process of developing and creating innovative products in the field of robotics. We are specialized in design, development and manufacturing of unmanned vehicles and autopilot systems as well as individual components, including servo drives, pan-tilt platforms, parachute rescue/landing systems and other UAV accessories and components. Our solutions range from small industrial surveillance drones to large UAVs and atmospheric satellite systems.
The future might be slow high altitude HAPS UAV's combining solar power, wings and lighter than air gas. A slim dirigible with wings and solar panels. Infinite flight.
Amazing how the shape of the ubiquitous partial earth imagery goes from round to flat to convex. Be nice if at some point we could see the entire earth rotating as science tells us, from a distance beyond the moon, in 4K. Shouldn't be a problem for NASA, right?
Hi UAVos, Well done, an increadible performance! Reynolds numbers, hence drag, are against you at high altitudes. Can you tell the audience what the theorectical altitude is, you meet supersonic flow on the wing upper surface? That will be, estimated by guess, 50 km high ?
This one resembles the Rutan designed Voyager, flying around the earth nonstop, on two engines with a prop. It had flutter problems because those wings were so long and constructed so light, but the pilots were trained to countersteer the oscillations, which is awfully difficult, if you fail, the wing breaks, no kidding. But this means, the design is very good. Now build it ten times larger, please.
The flutter in Rutans plane was a mode with a slow frequency in symetric wing bending. The mode was much caused by the configuration chosen by Rutan. The shown configuration in the video has is much lesser sensitive. The frequency of Rutans aircraft was slow enough to counterstreer by a human, altough very tiring.. The mode was in highest amplification rate at full tanks and became indifferent and later stable below 75% of fuel. Rutan tested the aircraft to say 60% fuel load so he was not aware of this mode from flight testing. If the fuel is batteries with constant mass the configuration has flutter, or it has not, as demonstrated.
