The airport is now less likely to reopen now that labour are in charge as they historically bankrupt the country with their backward facing money wasting plans. No investment has been found for the airport. The Labour government and labour council/mayor are liars. Why are the rate payers funding with the 135year leasing plan? Will the Mayor open up the airport lounge area and heat it, so pensioners can sit there in winter and keep warm? Labour and Free Gear Kier are a disgrace. The money wasted on the airport should be used to fund the winter fuel payments for the elderly.
