Great video! I’m running into the same P2711 code on my 2011 CC. The vehicle seems to go into all gears until it doesn’t. It will snap out of gear mid drive and have the D flash on the HUD. By turning off the vehicle and starting it back on it will go back into gear as if nothing happened. After a while it will do the same thing again. Any suggestions on how to go about diagnosing the issue? Thanks!
Bro you just saved my life😂 I had the exact same problem and I couldn’t figure it out for 3 days on my 07 Volkswagen Jetta 2.5 I almost thought it was over for it
I have a 2007 VW Passat 2.0T - FSI engine & the car has 2 fuel pumps , It has the Low Pressure fuel pump in the gas tank & There is a High Pressure fuel pump up at the engine , The problem I'm having is when I hook up the fuel pressure gauge & Start up at the engine for the Low pressure fuel pump the gauge will go crazy , The PSI will stay around 60 to 80 PSI but the pressure gauge needle jumps back and forth very rapidly where I can't almost see it / The needle moves so fast between 60 & 80 PSI , Anyone ever seen anything like that before ? And what could be cause it ?
Great video,,guided me on what to look for, saved tons of time and money, in my case the 12v red wire was broken in the passenger side door hinge boot. Fished a new piece of wire from the side panel behind the glove box thru the boot and wire nut it. Left the old wire in the motor connector. Just cut it 8 in away from the connector. Wire nuts and tape both ends. Works.
I have this issue right now, no transmission noise or clunking but I get the R flashing with no movement when I step on gas and flashing D only seems to run on 1-2 gears. When I shut the car off for a minute it’s ok but my mechanic says I need a rebuilt tranny which when you include labor is about 6-7k 🚬 so will go to a transmission specialist shop and get the mechatronic unit and clutches replaced and see if that helps it and for how long.
i had no clunking but after warming up if shifted from P to N or D to P it would flash and lockout. after much troubleshooting and checking with VCDS software only thing i could determine was that there was oil on my electrical plug going into the transmission controller Mechatronic. means the controller got saturated with oil and it seeped up into the breather hole on the round plug. got a used trans and it grenaded after 200 miles. now im swapping the mechatronic into the old trans and using this vid to setup new 180$ raybestos clutch discs in the trans to save money. Im a pro at removing this damn transmission now
Do you think it would be possible to bypass the ground on the o2 sensor and send the o2 sensor ground to another ground point under the car? Or would the computer need to be in the [ground] loop?
I have a B5 1.8t and when I unplugged that wire to test it it blew the fuel pump fuse ? and it stopped running can you advise me please many thanks my car doesn't have a 384 relay ? 1998 B5 Passat 1.8t 20v sport but it does have a 267 relay which I have changed should I have both ?
Had same problem, got it changed, months later exact same issue, got another new one and had same problem ended up being that Ground wire. Not a fan of fuel pump control systems
Dude I had the exact problem on my daughter’s 2009 beetle. It was the same wire broken. This video saved me so much time trying to figure it out. Thank you so much…
The receiver drier is for sure saturated with moisture, you will never get all of the moisture you just induced out of there. Nitrogen is your friend when checking ac leaks.
Bro you are awesome i just fixed a 2008 jetta following your steps. Wire black and red had corrotion got my power and check engine light back thanks for this video
Great video. Currently running into this issue on my 07 Passat 2.0fsi. The code I’m getting is p2294. Recently changed the HPFP and still getting the same code again. The cam follower looked worn but wasn’t punctured bur replaced it anyway. Any suggestions man?
Thank you for this video! I was on my way to work when my engine light started flashing and then went solid. My engine was running really rough and it was sluggish in the lower RPMs. Because it's a manual transmission I was able to keep the clutch half engaged to maintain high enough RPM's to smooth out the engine. I took my car to O'Reilly and took advantage of their FREE Check Engine service. The printout showed Cylinder Misfire on four of my five cylinders along with several other codes. I followed your video, performed a Cylinder Drop test, determined I had a bad ignition coil, picked up a new one from O'Reilly, and replaced it myself using another RU-vid How-To video (because I know NOTHING about cars). My car fired right up and purred like a kitten. I still had a Check Engine light so I disconnected the battery to clear the error codes (shoutout to O'Reilly for that tip), reconnected, and no more Check Engine Light. O'Reilly performed another FREE Check Engine service and all my errors are gone. All told, this repair cost me about $32.00 and less than an hour of my time. Thank you again!
Mine has an error transmission but it randomly goes away and randomly come back and there doesnt seem to be wrong with my vw golf, it runs and turns on perfectly fine
Just had this happen on my 05. I heard from other owners of what would cause it . Ran truck through a car wash and truck was stalling and sputtering after and would keep shutting off. Went right to the fuel pump driver module and that was the issue. I could see a hole in it and a ton of corrosion. Ran to auto parts store. Picked a new one up for less than 200. Swapped it out and bingo.. truck started right up and so far I have had no issues since. No scan tool needed. No point in trying other things when you can clearly see a hole in the module and corrosion. Don't waste your time. Swap it out. That more than likely is the problem. That definitely will cause a stalling issue and act like your out of gas.
my 03 turbo passat has same symptom. hard start. autozone diagnosed my computer and it says cam sensor A circuit high bank 1 or single sensor. wa s gonna change front sensor but can't be sure it's problem after watching this video. what to do?
This jogged my memory from when I used to work on cars. I remember the insurance company brought in a newly painted car and they were tripping out why it wouldn't start. I had it easy since I found a ground that was painted over. What I want to know is what did the customer have fixed or serviced before it started having the problem. This could be the fault of the dealership mechanic that worked on it last. Just saying since I've had to fix other people's stuff before.
