Not sure why anyone would cut the pipe by the cat. All you have to do is remove the slip on mufflers and remove the covers them the header pipe. Get a long half inch drill bit and drill in several spots thru the honeycone inside your cat. Take either a long punch or rebar works as well. Punch the honeycone out and it comes out clean with absolutely no reason to cut your pipe at all !
easier to cut out a rectangular plate on the cat section of the exhaust pipe and scoop and break up the cat material and remove then weld the plate back on
Can i get away without tuning the bike up adter decating or do i have to tune it ? I got set of fishtails on my bike at the moment but sounds just like standart exhaust 😂
Way too much effort, just remove the slip-on and use a long drill and drill a circle of holes and out it comes, just use a long chisel to remove and remaining parts and stand clear when you first start it up... put slip-on back on and jobs done, no more than 30 mins!
Catalytic converters prevent harmful carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, and nitrogen oxides which contribute to breathing illnesses, poor air quality, and environmental pollution.
when I approach an issue logically I always focus on the least impacting variables also ;). The illogical people that would focus on the reduction in coal fired furnaces across the world or even substituting electric heat in homes produced from a nuclear US-based power plant in place of fossil fuels makes no sense ;) I guess the question then would become if we did all that - would people still complain about motorcycle exhaust emissions - probably not, they would say it was too loud ;)
No need to take all that off. Just get the shrouds off. Muffler off. And drill through the cat. Break it up. Pull out the pieces. Careful to plug the crossover with a rag. Use a cylinder phone to clean. Shop vac it out and blow it out by running briefly.
I use power vision which u can self tune...I installed a big bore kit so had it dynoed and the map loaded through powervison but u can do quite a bit without the dyno
For informational purposes only :) very common to do this on bikes that the owner wants to modify. Many r not concerned with warranty and as far as the epa..well maybe we should worry about the coal furnaces in China;)
Don’t need one. Search Dkcustoms videos. You can do a complete stage one and the bike will still run in spec. Even a stock will run better with a tuner but you are not going to hurt it not running one.
@@seniorp9444It depends. The M8’s have a lot of variability for the F/A mix. I did a Stage 1 on my 2018 Road King but added a Vance & Hines FuelPak 3 tuner to the bike anyway. Harley speed limits their bikes to 109 mph. So I wanted to eliminate that. I wanted to be able to increase my throttle sensitivity also. Then there were a bunch of other things I wanted the tuner for. I flashed a generic map for a Stage 1 upgrade then used the learning mode of the tuner to dial in the F/A mix. The bike will do 125 mph now and it’s got a ton more power.
The part of this im not a fan of is the cross over to the left muffler. Much like stock most of the exhaust gasses escape out of the right side unless your really pushing the volume. I wonder what tune you would use if its really needed? I'm thinking while in there maybe just capping the left side off and run it as a 2 into 1 leaving the left muffler as a dummy for looks? Any potential performance gain or loss?
Removed cat by just cutting a rectangle over the cat and welded cap back on. Also deleted cross over and welded it shut to make a 2 into 1. Re-tuned with FP3. 👌 love it.
i'm still confused, in some youtube videos that i had seen, they showed common as negative five volt, negative direction and negative pulse. why? or it really doesn't matter, if we consider either of the + or -- as common.
Soooooooooo ive watched over 100+ CNC Videos and i can say for certain yours is the most and best educational video ive watched yet! It doesnt get any better than your video buddy! very very well done, simple to understand and well said! the best CNC demo video yet, well done
Nice video but change the ac power wires on the power supply. You probably have it wired right in the switch but on the power supply you have the green wire to the L which should be the black and the black on the earth ground which should be the green. Like I said, you probably have it wired in the switch right but as it looks It'll give the wrong impression to someone.
