Rich-R'-Tone Records was founded in Johnson City Tennessee in 1946 by James Hobart Stanton. The label would operate for over 40 years under Stanton's management. The label is regarded as one of the earliest bluegrass labels, birthing the careers of many greats in the genre including The Stanley Brothers, Wilma Lee and Stoney Cooper, the Sauceman Brothers, and The Bailey Brothers. Despite the historical importance of the label, very few works have been preserved. This channel is dedicated to unearthing and preserving as much content as possible. At the archives we also want to preserve works on labels associated with Rich-R'-Tone such as Champ Records, Folk-Star, Skyland, and the other vanity labels connected to James Stanton. We recorded a 10 song Cassette of original songs, first and took that song and made the record. Jim Stanton did the recordings until his death and his son took over but the studio closed so we never got anything that we recorded some. Copies of our cassette and a few records we made two records. I still have one of those but I don't know how to get them on youtube.
