Last Christmas, I gave you my heart But the very next day, you gave it away This year, to save me from tears I'll give it to someone special Last Christmas, I gave you my heart But the very next day, you gave it away (you gave it away) This year, to save me from tears I'll give it to someone special (special)
The thing about Kotaro is that most guitarist probably can play his arrangements, but his touch and feel on guitar is very difficult to mimic. He's so one of a kind.
So eternally beautiful. He captured the melancholy, sadness of the original song. Christmas is supposed to be a happy time, but for many, it is a season of unbearable poignancy. How amazing that this song was written in an hour by a 21 year old George Michael. That this master guitarist chooses to play this song speaks volumes about GM's talent. Miss and love him. Always.
Alfred Chan it's called a tapping harmonics or a slap harmonics. you hit the strings at the harmonics point(5,7,12th frets) with the side of your index or middle finger to get that clear marmonic sound with the hitting sound. Antoine dufoir described it as a symbal hit for a guitar.
I can imagine me sitting next to window holding a cup of tea watching my yard covered with snow and kids playing building snowman in the Christmas morning.
I've had a dream like you and started to learn guitar last year. This song is really difficult with me but i believe that i can play it at Chrismast this year...
ukhio I've been listening to Kotaro before I discovered Naudo Rodrigues on RU-vid. Kotaro is good but if you actually look up Naudo Rodrigues here you will see he is the only guitarist in the world in a class of his own. Kotaro isn't as good as Naudo. Anyone who actually plays finger style acoustic guitar can tell the difference in skill. You are just being biased because you share the same nationality as Mr. Oshio.
lol of course there are more skilled guitarist than oshio like martin taylor, francesco buzzurro, tommy emmanuel, and a lonnnggg list, without mentioning clasical guitarist. But that's not the reason why I picked Oshio as my favorite one. Oshio has a unique style that noone can repeat or copy. He plays music that you feel, not just hear, Oshio can convert the simplest song into the most beautiful melody...what is the point of being extremly skilled if you don't understant that?, he is first guitarist that doesn't care about speed....simply but really beautiful I think he truly understands music
ukhio That's false. He is not the first. I never mentioned guitarist like Tommy i said Naudo. If you even bothered searching him on RU-vid you would see his incredible repertoire in which he plays more complex and beautiful than any other guitarist alive or dead. His rhythm is unmatched. I dare you to look him up. Naudo is the first guitarist to not care about fame and is arguably the most skilled guitarist in the world and thanks to RU-vid people have discovered him and now claim he is the greatest fingerstyle guitarist on earth at the moment.
I will always prefer composers even a dumbass like me can play if I get the tabs, but I don't have the gift of creating that's why people like kotaro became my hero...
