If only RU-vid had existed back in the day, when I first started going to concerts...
I would have saved those memories for posterity.
Not only to remember when I'm old and trying to recall the good times.
But to share my experiences with others, snapshots in time.
We'll now I can.
Enjoy!
P.S. I post not only to catalogue/preserve/share these unique experiences, but also to promote the artists themselves. If any artist objects to a video that I have posted of them, just message me and I'll take it down. No offense will be taken. Peace.
As an entire career set of works, Neil Peart's lyrics are the finest in the history of popular music. They are filled with profound meanings and emotions, and unique symbolism.
@@rockodilechannel3509 We would actually open gigs with it. That or Day of the Eagle by Robin Trower. I think in a weird way we dared people to like us. We were probably stupid. But we had fun.
@@rockodilechannel3509 One of my bosses & I went to see him a few years ago. Great show. I'm very lucky in that both of the guys I work for are music nerds. We work together. And we take in live music together.
Actually I think Danny is the one with the groove. If you listen to Waiting Man for example, and other live tracks from this tour, they’re much funkier and deeper than Brufords style. Bruford is of course the OG, but I find this new lineup offers a fresh groovy new take on the music. Especially with Steve Vai who plays much looser and more melodic than Fripp. I can’t wait to see them in Denver.
Bruford was an All Time Great. We all know what he did in his 50+ years of playing and his one off style, King of the Rimshot snare 🥁 ! He won the Modern Drummer Magazine "Best Drummer" so much they put Bruford in their HOF just like they did Neil Peart & Mike Portnoy later. My all time favorite Drummer and I'm an Old Prog "Baaastard" having seen all the great bands many times from Boston, CT to NYC starting in 1971' with my older Brother and friends. Bill in Yes/ King Crimson/ Genesis in 1976' and UK in 1978' and Crimson in the 1980s-90s so many great concerts. For me Bill was just so different I Loved his playing just amazing ! 👍🎶🥁🎼✌
@nathanmeans1548 so did the '70s, '90s, and '00s ... advertised as the three '80s albums. I've seen 'em do Red a dozen times. I look forward to seeing them on October 4 in DC.
@@nathanmeans1548Yep. It was a Tradition, and I can attest to it being played, during both the Beat, and to the Three of the Perfect Pair Tours I saw Them play Red, Live.
Yes. That's just how the song is. It's 80's King Crimson. Very rhythmic. Check Vai out on Red. He's all over that one. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lfx5TqDOJjg.htmlfeature=shared
Greatest Bass intro ever! Eric Avery = Bass Boss! The very best bass grooves ever! Jane's is a timeless and profoundly magnificent band! ❤ Thanks for sharing!
@@FireBladeRR-RSP Depends on what your definition of "cover band" is, I guess. The official label is what it is. In thos case, it's Sammy Hagar not VH. But I get yor point.
1:35 - that little harmonic lick Joe's added to this song is so cool! Every one of these I watch, the band just keeps getting tighter and tighter with these songs. This is such an awesome tribute, and it makes me smile more and more with every video I watch. Edit: That crowd! 😃😃😃 Edit 2: I just compared this and the LWAN performance of 5150, and they're in the same key! Mikey's hitting that note like it's 1986 for real, and Sammy's not holding back. I'm blown away.
Lots of us knew! You're right, he's the real deal across the board always has been. Without his backing vocals none of those van halen songs would have that same magic
