Is this SKU 2547702 MODEL# MO60L519 ? Does this have the multi-cut blade system? Also, I see the 80V model does include the high-lift blade, but looking in the comments you mention that this mower seems to not need it. How is the mower now that you have had it a few more months?

2332357 is the SKU for the 8ah battery and Self Propelled version that I have. This one doesn't have the high-lift blade though I wish it came with it so I could try it out. When mulching, there is not much lift. if you side discharge or bag, there's pretty good lift in comparison but I'd like to see how much better the light lift blade does. I love the mower still....I find myself side discharging more often since I get more lift. The blade clippings are still very fine and it spreads them well.

@@greganson3627 Hopefully they make a high lift for the 60V. Currently, there is only one 60V listed as compatible with the high lift blade SKU - 2994402. I am new to lawns and mowers and wanted electric and was steered to greenworks as the cheapest metal deck Ego is more than grand.

I have a new Toro battery mower, it sucks, drive wheel falls off in 2nd hour, battery shorts, and on-line Toro will not take it back. They do not take items back if you use it for 1 minute! Their rear left geared wheel unbolts itself from the bracket, it self destructs! Two others have the same problem. Their repair dealer literally told me "with Toro, its Buyer Beware". I have a Toro case number, a BBB case number, and a US Consumer Product Safety Commission case number. Save yourself and learn from my mistake, and stay away from Toro.

Thanks for the video, the backing up issue was also a huge for me, many times have to pull the mower back and forth around pine trees and other shrubs. I just ordered one, slightly different motor but the same updated wheels, the deck looks the same but 21 inch. Hopefully it will have the same updated drive system, if not it is returnable.

It wasnt but I also don't review these things for views so I won't let my grass go more than a week without a mow. Ive mowed taller since this video but the mower was never forced to struggle. My only feedback with taller grass is that the dual blade has very little lift so it will miss some blades. The 80v from Costco has a high lift blade with the dual blade system so greenworks has one, they just don't have inventory. I'm looking forward to trying the higher lift blade option when that time comes. If anyone has the Costco 80v dual blade mower and got the high lift and wants to send it to me to review that id be happy to do that video with longer grass and then send the blade back.

Thanks for the informative review Greg! I'm thinking this might be the one that gets me to make the move to battery powered. Resolving the wheel lock up issue is huge for me. Just wondering, do the wheels have much traction? They almost look shiny like they might be slick. I have a yard that slopes from the sidewalk to the street at a pretty fair angle and is a bit rough. My 90lb gas mower will slide down and almost off the curb making it a chore to control. I am hoping this one would be easier on me. Just getting older and I've had surgery on both shoulders in the past.

I like the improvements over the 21 inch Greenworks 60v mower. Greenworks could have made the muching / bagging switch to allow partial mulching/ bagging like the Honda gas mowers. Another thing they could have done is allow mower to draw additional power if you use two batteries at the same time. Nothing better than a powerful motor that can cut through anything. The existing 60v 21 inch Greenworks mower self propel speed was not linear when you adjusted the lever from Turtle to Rabbit or other way around. I hope Greenworks improved this.

I have this new Greenworks mower, have mowed with it twice now, and I am very impressed with the cut quality of the mower. To get the best cut quality I can, I run it with the Turbo on the whole time. Cut quality is as good as the dual blade Honda gas mower I was using for the past 10 years. The maneuverability of this mower is WAY better than my old Honda, due to less weight, and larger back wheels. Dare I say mowing with this thing was almost fun! Sure makes the twice a week maintenance mows a breeze. I'm going to try the next mow without the Turbo feature on, to see if there is a difference in cut quality. Will report back.
@greganson3627
@greganson3627 3 месяца назад
Thanks for the feedback! I let mine go all week and I ended up cutting 2.5 inches off today and I still love it. The lift was definitely not as much without turbo mode and left a few isolated blades but in the thicker patches I used turbo and it really lifted well for not having high lift blades. What I was most impressed with is the absolutely lack of clippings anywhere. I'd have had to do a double cut on my old mower if I was mulching and not at all the case with this one. It truly is a pleasure to mow with. I made one modification I would recommend. On the front wheels the bar rattles around a bit so I used a torx bit screw driver to take off the metal brackets and pulled the bar out and wrapped it with some electrical tape. Much smoother and more solid now.

Hello all... so I did another maintenance mow today, taking off about an inch, and I did not use the Turbo feature. The cut quality was still outstanding, pretty much indistinguishable from the mow I did before using the Turbo feature. Now, for the odd outcome: using the 8AH battery as I had before, I still had 2 bars out of 4 left. I again used the self-propelled feature about 75% of the time. I'm old and a gimp lol, so I had the Drive Speed set to the slowest setting each time. So maybe that setting has more of an impact to battery life than using the Turbo feature; not sure. I can say I'm still very satisfied with this mower, and it's definitely making my job much easier while maintaining the level of cut quality I want to have. Cheers!

There is literally no grass. What are you cutting? Are you being sent units to promote on RU-vid? 😂 There is a 25 inch electric mower that I was interested in the past. The blades are side by side so you are really leaving a thing strip in the middle that is uncut. It was one of the complaints aside from being underpowered for the job. High lift blades cause battery drainage issues This is my problem with electric mowers. It is the need to preserve power unlike gas which run at full throttle and smaller blades by inch or more compared to deck that causes corners next to road if the road is below your yard to be left uncut. You have to invest in a string trimmer to clean up and those can get very top heavy. The EGO unit comes with 5 and 7.5 amp hour batteries at least which are pretty heavy to lug around the yard.

One of the biggest problems I see with electric mowers is they don't put enough lift on the blade. It takes some upward suction to bring up down grass and do a quality job of cutting. I have an ego and had to put a much higher lift blade to do a decent job. And yes it did cut down the minutes on the battery
@greganson3627

It would be nice if greenworks made a high lift blade option for this mower as I could definitely take the battery life tradeoff with this one. Right now it looks like they only offer a replacement blade.

I have this new Greenworks mower as well, and have mowed with it twice so far. I run the Turbo on the whole time, to get closer to gas powered blade RPMs, and I gotta say the cut quality is really, really good. I'd say as good if not a bit better than my Honda dual blade gas mower. This Greenworks mower is also dual blade, so it does seem to help with the lift.

The stacked, offset blades are said to improve mulching by 30 percent. I guess that means "mulches into segments that are 30 percent finer, helping the clippings decompose faster." But maybe it means "leaves behind 30 percent less clumping." I have the Gen. 2 60V 21-inch. I mulch in Turbo mode, using the heavier, high-lift blade. The 22 doesn't offer a high-lift blade because it doesn't need one. But it still benefits from Turbo mode. Please report back to us after you've torture-tested your 22 on high grass in Turbo mode.
@greganson3627
@greganson3627 3 месяца назад
Turbo mode definitely gets more lift on the blades. I used it sparingly on my cut today and, just doing my own yard, I ended with two bars of battery still. I'll try the next cut with turbo on the whole time to see the difference both in quality and its impact to battery. It is absolutely a mulching monster though. No clipping clumps anywhere even cutting 2.5" off today.

My front yard is about 3000 sq. ft., and using Turbo on the whole time, and using the self-propelled option around 75% of the time, using the 8AH battery that came with it, I had 2 out of 4 bars left on the battery. This was a maintenance mow, so taking off about an inch or so.

Hey Greg, thanks for this initial impressions video. Been trying to find info about this one and the 80v version (I guess that one too has been updated to "Gen 3", w/22" cut, etc.) but not finding any info about that one. Looking forward to your follow-up video after mowing with it! Thank you!
@greganson3627
@greganson3627 3 месяца назад
You're very welcome. I was also coming up short on both. I bought the 80v 22" from Costco with 2-4ah batteries and 4amp charger. I had 4 primary issues with it and returned it before I got to cut with it due to catastrophic failure. First - As soon as I tested the lights, they flashed quickly and then it popped and the whole motor stopped operating. The additional complications of the 80v's dual battery changover and separate light switch are just unnecessary to me. The LEDs use no meaningful power so there's no need to worry about them being on or off. Second - The flap door for mulching/opening was off alignment a hair and was getting stuck in the closed position. I had to take a razor blade to the edge of it to get it to open without hesitation. That's a Quality control issue - as it appears these decks are the exact same. This could have had the same problem. Third - It was going to use both of those 4ah batteries and with a single 4amp charger, it was going to be annoying having to swap them out to be sure they are both charged every time I need to mow it. It's just easier having 1 battery. And with this one you get 1 battery and the better 6amp charger. Fourth - The labeling on the box was way out of alignment with the website. The box said it was suitable for 1/3 acre and had 50 min runtime with 2-4ah batteries. The website said 3/4 acre and 60 minutes. Why the difference?

@@greganson3627 Thanks again for this info, very helpful! Another question I'm having trouble answering... how heavy is this mower, and how maneuverable will it be? I'll be coming from an old gas powered self-propelled Honda 21" cut, dual blade mower with "smaller" wheels... what I'm really looking for is ease in turning at the end of each pass. I'm getting older (55 tomorrow! 😲), and find this aspect of mowing is what wears me out the most!
@greganson3627
@greganson3627 3 месяца назад
@@Tom_Platz It's listed around 75 lbs I believe. It seems to be a good weight as it's generally lighter than gasoline, but also a bit heavier than the plastic ones like Ego (55ish lbs). I wanted a bit heavier than the EGO or Ryobi ones because I didn't want it bouncing around on the imperfections on the yard, causing an uneven cut. I'll let you know how it goes with focusing on the turning and maneuverability. I have high hopes with the reverse lockout "feature" gone. Happy Birthday!!!
